LOL sorry to be the only one here who disagrees. But sometimes someone is simply 'too' good for me. Sorry, but I am not perfect, and I would HATE to tarnish a wonderful woman with me standing next to her.
It's not a self confidence issue(although many will see it that way) it is more that I don't feel I am rich, handsome, funny, etc enough to be worth a woman who is 'out of my league'
I have had women 'out of my league' and every time they leave me after my heart is totally theirs. That hurts. I won't let that happen again.

Put it this way. I get a lot more nervous, and hence, likely to do something.. really really stupid, because they are 'too good'
Also in most cases, I can't even approach a woman who is too good for me. I actually become great friends with them, never anything else. (Once I did, but like I said before, ended badly for me, and hurt a great deal)
Truth is, my 'wants' are simple,and if she fits in my realm of what I want/need, she's Perfect in my eyes. One of those 'wants' is not feeling 'less' when next ot her, and having her feel the same(I feel relationships should be 50/50 all the way, in all area's, both sides have to work and take as much as the other)

Now there is a statement I can agree with.. I get all flustered and tongue tied when around a stunningly beautiful woman..sweaty palms..the works..I'm more likely to act in a way where they are less likely to see my better traits..and thus I don't even get a chance to be with them.
But that is why I think I like this Net dating thingie..behind this screen..I can drool all I want..but I don't stutter..and what is really on my mind comes out with ease..and I don't apppear as the village idiot..
it all comes down to self esteem..how do we feel about ourselves..if I think 'she' is beyond me..I must not think highly of myself..No one is better than me..we are all equal in the eyes of God..

If you would stop thinking they are too good for you, then maybe you have a chance. Everyone has a heart and soul. We are all human beings. You have already defeated yourself by saying they are too good for me. I think you need an attitude adjustment.
