I want to know from men how often have women picked up the tab on a date? We are now at an age where women are more independant than we use to be. So why do we still feel that men should pick up the tab at every date? I for one am comfortable enough with myself to pick up the tab. I dont know if it is taken from a mans ego to do so. But I think if I claim to be independant shouldnt i act like it?

Wants. this is a very good question. I have had it both ways. And then each pick up the tab. If you are talking about ego I do not have one. I will say this though I do still open doors for a lady but then I do it because out of courtesy. I agree with what you are saying. In these days it should be equal. JMO

I always have my purse ready..I think its rude to just sit there..and wait for him to say something..JMO..be ready..to jump up and take action..and if he insist on paying..then fine..but always be ready.

Majority of the time especially the first date, the man usually picks up the tab.
But then there are times and instances when women go dutch. But rarely do women pick up the tab on the first date.
However, if future dates and or a relationship starts, there are some women that pick up the tab sometimes and or every other date or whatever...

Never doesn't exists in dating. Some women prefer to go dutch on the first date and there are some women that don't mind picking up the tab every once in a while with her boyfriend.
Picking up a tab is not indicative on whether another date will happen or not or whether the dating experience will be good or not. Just ask all the men who don't get second dates, just ask all the men and or women that don't receive future calls, just ask the men and women about how many times they thought they had the right one and it didn't pan out within weeks or a month or two or three.
There's more to potential relations than worrying about who does this who does that. Trust, men would be glad to pick up the tab. But we all know that this doesn't happen all the time with dutch and some women offering if a relationship has been established.
