I guess for those of you that had bad marriages - that sucks, but I am a widow too and lost my best friend. Hopefully, the bad marriage folks will find that in someone some day. At the end of a long day knowing your best friend is there and accepts you for you, you really miss it.

I miss certain aspects of being married..mainly intimacy..snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie...I still enjoy my freedom and still like sleeping alone..I don't miss marriage enough at this point to do it again any time soon..

I loved my ex very much and would have taken a bullet for him. I wasn't aware of "what" he was doing behind my back... I've been divorced for 10 1/2 years and haven't had a relationship in over 5 years. I did not expect to be alone this long. I miss the same things as other posters mentioned, a best friend to talk to and share your innermost thoughts, snuggle buddy, a sense of security,someone to hold your head when you vomit.

Of course. One should separate being married and being married to one who disappointed you or betrayed your trust. I am a seriel marrier. I love the institution, even if I may not be the best practitionor.
Marriage beats the hell out of whatever is in second place.

Yes. Only married once and it was a very long term one. Hard to imagine starting over again and going through really getting to know someone (since we all change a bit once living together-IMO). But generally yes, I miss it.
