Only real life example I have come across was when an older step sister had started with destroying my son's property, and escalated to stitches and missing teeth. Nope, daddy didn't do anything, or the witch's mother, soooooo although my son had been raised with the rule "a gentleman never hits a lady" we had to add a bit..."if she ain't acting like a lady she doesn't deserve to be treated like one". Gave him full permission to stomp the crap out of her, and promised I would back him to the hilt if daddy or the step mom even so much as dared to squeak about it. Also told this step mom that she would be in court for assault (as the parental unit) if this brat ever touched him again. Nope, no double standards, everyone should KEEP THEIR HANDS DOWN.
