I was pretty impressed with nopretence's closing thoughts..."BUT...I don't think I ever felt fear the way a lot of women feal fear. So my heart really goes out to you who have been in such a horrible place.
Hugs and tears and prayers for you, precious friends.
Fritz"
I dont hear that from men very often. That was pretty cool.

Most men don't mention if they are or have been abused physically but that's because of a macho standard in our society. I feel that if you use physical violence against others,it's because you feel you arn't intelligent enough to argue with verbal interactions. I strongly believe that you have to get away from people who insight you toward violent behavior or from those who are violent toward you, man or woman.

photo "now i have a question what about women who hit men?"
Only real life example I have come across was when an older step sister had started with destroying my son's property, and escalated to stitches and missing teeth. Nope, daddy didn't do anything, or the witch's mother, soooooo
although my son had been raised with the rule "a gentleman never hits a lady" we had to add a bit..."if she ain't acting like a lady she doesn't deserve to be treated like one". Gave him full permission to stomp the crap out of her, and promised I would back him to the hilt if daddy or the step mom even so much as dared to squeak about it. Also told this step mom that she would be in court for assault (as the parental unit) if this brat ever touched him again.
Nope, no double standards, everyone should KEEP THEIR HANDS DOWN.

There is NEVER an excuse for any kind of abuse no way no how even verbal abuse is damaging and stays with you forever just as the physical does.I have worked in A Special Victims Unit for 15 years in law enforcement and I can tell you that I have seen it all and heard it as well. You are survivors and have nothing to feel guilty about or to be ashamed of!!!

Even as a kid, I did not feel like the guilty one. Even at that young age, I could tell the abusers were the ones with the problem. And people wonder why I left home at 14?
