When people put they don't like to argue and fight, what does that mean? I see it in alot of profiles, and I'm sorry but I don't know anyone who likes to argue and fight, but I have seen that statement used in the real world to stop another person with a complaint from expressing it, which I feel is a lack of communication skills on the person who says that, but what do I know? So would someone who has used those words in their profile please explain what they mean, from their point of view

When I say I don't like to argue or fight, what I mean is, I don't think there is any subject two adults can't work out reasonably. That is not to say there will never be an arguement in a relationship. Sure, passion comes with relationships, but I don't think there is any subject other than cheating and lying that can't be worked out with a civil discussion.

i hate to fight its a waste of time and energy which could be spent instead enjoying each other...argue yeah i'll argue especially if i know i'm right or just need to get my point across just don't turn it into a fight give me the respect to hear me out as i would you calmy and in a mature manner...

It means that they typically like to talk things out like mature adults in debate issues that will arise. They know disagreements will happen, but it's ok to agree to disagree without disrespecting each other, raising voices, physically and or mentally abusing the other person etc...
Keep in mind though, just because one states that they don't like to argue and fight, doesn't necessarily mean that their actions will stick to his/her words. Remember, many people say things online to bait and hook etc... Always give it time, learn about a person, and really see how they handle adversity, that's the only way ya see if they really mean what they say 
Always take profiles for face value. They are just like resumes. It's a presentation.

I'd be safe to assume...they have been married or in a relationship that one or the other were controlling and there was ALOT of arguing and fighting going on...
Quite simply they are stating what they don't want in their lives anymore...
To me is has nothing to do with not caring, or not listening they probably adore that BUT the rest sucks!
I don't state that BUT I will gladly tell someone I hate arguing and fighting...and I really hate being struck!
Sometimes... well all the time its better to walk away!

I think it means that at any problem or confrontation they will run away because they will say you are fighting and it is just an excuse and I feel it is weak. Instead of being strong and resolving things I think this may be an excuse to walk away say if you disagree or run into a little problem. Im thinking control issue. If a man cant communicate he is not for me

To me, it means they're trying to avoid having a potentially uncomfortable conversation
The problem with that is that nothing ever gets resolved.
I don't think most people like to argue and fight per se... but sometimes you gotta put your big girl panties on and deal with life. JMO

It means that they think they are always right, so no arguing or discussion is neceasary. They don't want to hear the other person's opinion on something.

I have no idea b/c no relationship is w/o some arguing or drama at some point in time. If you step outside your house, or stay inside it, you are going to get his with drama. The dog can steal your socks and run through the mud with them and you've got drama. So to say that you don't like it is fine, who does, but to expect it to never happen is delusional. What it means for me is that by the time I left home at 19, I'd had all the fighting and arguing and yelling that I ever care to experience. My home is a quiet and peaceful one. There's enough stress in the world without bringing it home to our sanctuary.
Some people prefer to handle things in a more adult manner. It doesn't mean that they aren't going to value your opinions, it doesn't mean that they're going to insist on having it their way...for some of us it just means that we will listen to your side, give it weight as we expect you to give weight to our side, and reach an ADULT compromise if possible.

It means just what it says. I will sit and talk and discuss any issue but I am not going to argue and fight over stuff. It is a waste of good energy and only tends to make my blood pressure rise. Yes I get irritated and yes even mad sometimes but I want to cool off before I talk because I don't want to say stupid things I will regret later. Might say its a lesson hard learned.
And just for FYI no I do not think I am always right but I am not always wrong either!

I think it means that person has dealt with a relationship that was very volatile and full of conflict. And that person will not put themselves in another relationship with the same dynamic.

It is a waste of energy but a couple of good examples I've experienced is a friend (drama queen) will not get what she wants and calls her man every name in the book, brings up old problems to continue to dwell on them. The next one would be my father who is the most negative miserable person I know. He finds something to b*tch about nonstop and can comment on any situation with negative thoughts. 
Myself I enjoy  everyone is different though so how far it goes after that is up to each individual.

Okay, I understand not liking the knock down drag out fights...but when I think of arguing I think of misunderstanding. Yes, I agree that they can be settled in an adult manner in quite tones w/o yelling and screaming. What I don't agree with is that these things will NEVER come up and life will never be drama free completely.

When someone puts on their profile they don't want to argue or fight,thats might be telling
you thats how they have had to resolve conflict in relationships before. They may still
be dealing with those issues and it may be excess baggage that they will bring to a
new relationship with you..

I dont want to argue and fight to means that someone is living in their own world and is not very open minded to others perspectives.
I dont use that verbage - to me it is important to talk about differences and work/talk them through - listen - "LISTEN" to what is being said - try to understand it - even if you dont agreee - listen, absorb, rationalize, converse, and reach mutual grounds so both are happy - or simply agree to disagree. No need for anyone to be mad - anger is a root of dispute... When we get mad - we say things we normally wouldn't. We hurt the other and then it is not about the original matter. Spins off from there.

Everyone makes up their profiles based on their personality and experiences. If all someone has known in the past is fighting, and they don't want it anymore, they are probably going to mention it... because it's important to them, as far as a list of requirements etc.
That's why so many have "must not cheat" or "must not lie"... it's because they've been there before and don't want a repeat.
I don't agree with putting things like that in a profile, negativity is never good, but whatever works for others...
