I don't know if it's "one person for life" or maybe several relationships...but I think you can learn from people if your mind is open and you let go of 18th century expectations.

well with 3 billion woman in the world, i would say it doesnt hurt to be optimistic, best thing to do though is not settle just for the first one thats interested, common interests, common core values, and the willingness to communicate everything in you heart is a must. might take a while to find that, but if you do , the odds of it working would increase.

Is there someone? Hell yea there's someone.. Some one who will beat you up emotionally, take advantage of you, have you fix everything in the house and not say thankyou, solicit money, marry you for a green card,( no I didn't lol ) prove that she is talented with insults, lies, and manipulation..and on and on .... ad nauseum ...
There's "someones" abound or did you mean "The Someone" yea .. I suppose there's one of those for everyone too. Don't let them go by thinking they're just a "Someone" though.

That's personal choice. I think there is someone for everyone that wants someone and for those that are happy alone that is what is best for them.

And what might those be? Forgive me I am rusty on my 18th century dating rules and need a quick refresher....
To the OP, and attempting to stay on topic, I don't know brother. I have really only loved one woman and losing her made me doubt a lot of things, but not myself. If you have ever been loved by a woman then you KNOW it is possible and that you have endearing qualities to elicit said behavior no? If that is the case then it is simply a matter of time and who you like and how far you are willing to go to capture her attention! Chemistry will do the rest, the real test is picking the "winner" amidst a sea of users, self centered hedonists and down right dirty sluts!! LOL no offense to the DH in-patient resident slut rehabilitation wing we all wish you well in your recovery!!

THE GOOD NEWS: There is certainly more than one person in this world that you could happily spend your life with.
THE BAD NEWS: One of them lives in Zimbabwe and the other one in Irkutsk....
