It has been a long time since I have dated and I would like some advice on what people do these days. I am 37yrs old as of next week. I don't drink or smoke and I am not really a bar scene type of person. Any thoughts or am I a hopeless cause?

i have some age on you--even divorce can put us guys or even woman off track besides losing a spouse--in my opinion just be yourself and smile when you approach people--i know you have to eat so visit your local food market go to any department there pick up an item and practice by saying maybe: Hello, have you ever used this product...what i'm saying is never lose your communication skills because people judge people within the 1st minute or so ...after that either you're in or you jknock on the next door--may sound like i'm a salesman and yes i am and have in my time received many no's...just like i said try the next door--one last thing if you were happy in love --just don't compare the next one to your deceased spouse--

You may want to try you're church, a singles club, or maybe have one of you're friends fix you up..and if all else fails...try walmart, 2smart did pretty good there!..

I've been told Home Depot is a great spot to peruse for a date also believe it or not hehe.
The hardest thing is just getting out there and being available. Look women in the eye, smile if somebody strikes your interest. If they look you in the eyes back and give you a big smile, you're in brother. Don't be afraid to just say hi. Bars aren't exactly a great place to meet someone, I was a bouncer for many years, just trust me on that one. But a good pub is a different story. And by pub, I mean a place you can go to have a beer, and eat a good meal at.
When you do get a date, and I mean when not if, keep it simple at first. You don't have to knock her socks off the first date. Just keep things relaxed, and make sure you both have fun. Don't take her to a movie, you can't talk there.
Best date I've had in many years, I spent less than 30 bucks on. It was an absolutely gorgeous summer day, so I took her on a round trip ferry ride from Bremerton to Seattle, with a stop in Pike's place market. We got to spend alot of time just talking, and we had an absolute blast. Look for opportunities like that and you're golden. And good luck to ya, I truly hope you find the one that deserves you.

grocery store...any store really.join a club,church,local singles events(if you dont have any around you-----start it up!) go with friends out ,sporting events.if ya have kids-school functions/daycare.anywhere you go there are opportunities.at least put yourself out there cause you never know.good luck
