all my life i was very very skinny, then i hit my mid 30's and a little bit of depression, i gained a few extra pounds, that i'm really not happy with, but it's real hard to get off now, so i would say a few extra pounds would be a few more than you are use to having around

Why does it matter? That's why the world is full of hate & people fighting because we judge one another. Who cares what another person looks like? Nobody told you that you had to look at them. I thought we judged & mocked people in high school. This is the real world now. Learn to get along with others like we did in preschool.
Hi emily_is_dope Welcome to PA Chat . I know ynt and he didn't create this thread to mock or hurt anyone even though similar threads on this topic have been used to do just that .
Weight is such a touchy subject due to current standards and media hype. Its a fact of life that or bodies change as we age due to many factors . medications such as steriods for pain ,anti-depressents ,anti-inflamatories etc ,injuries, stress, and genetic predisposition . I believe the height-weight ratio charts are an unrealistic way to judge since factors such as bone structure ,muscle versus fat weight differences and the fact that humans are individuals ,each of us unique .
I have had my own weight fluctuate from 99lbs (due to illness) up to 145 lbs (injury & medications ) in the past 13 years . Fortunately I am currently comfortable with it but do feel I need to tone my muscles for optimum health as I have had 2 back surgeries and need the support.
Beauty is not about external factors but inner happiness and a good outlook on ones life & the people we share it with IMHO

A few extra pounds should mean no more than 20 pounds, But I have found it includes up to 100 more in the eyes of the man. I can take up to 30 pounds extra, after that it just depends on how that extra is made. Floppy tummies don't do much for me. And I don't want you so big that I am embarrassed to go out in public with you wearing sweat pants and a tee shirt. When I was big, no man wanted to meet me, now the tables are turned.

I think I might be one of the "few extra pounds" you are talking about. I had more than a few extra pounds before I started dieting and exercise about 2 months ago. I've lost 26 pounds and would like to lose another 26. No matter what people say they judge on appearance and even though I don't agree, that is the way it is. I feel so much better about myself and that is what matters.

I use a few extra pounds to signify that I've got some weight to lose and will be losing it. Darn baby weight just doesn't seem to want to go anywhere! But I'm not a whale by any means.

Meant to clarify my not wanting to date extra large men...I like people of all kinds, large, tiny or in between, but as far as dating, I would rather stick with someone closer to my size or maybe somewhat larger but not large large. I like them, have lots of friends like that, but not to date. (My best friend, who happens to be a man) weighs close to 300. He is a doll and I couldn't do without him, but I would not date him, and since he likes gals with 'butts' he wouldn't want to date me either.)

Most people zoom through the list of questions and pick the one that's almost honest but the easiest to live with. They're usually in a hurry to get to the fun "personality" essay!!! 
It would be kinda hard to ask someone about it when you're chatting but if it's important to you then ask. Otherwise you find out at the first meet. Could be why some folks don't get the second date.
Why is it BBW(big bodied woman, big blond woman??) is used often but you never see BBM??? Kinda sexist. Or do I have the BBW thing wrong???
