I take things for granted. This is me, speaking in a personal level. But when I see that when I just take a second to slow down to look around me to the people who are who I am today; my parents, my siblings, my neighbors and anyone who has, in one way or another, shared a bit of themselves with me.
I am thankful because I still have most of them here with me. Other folks are not so fortunate. Circumstances have stolen their gift from them; either through natural death, tragedy, or otherwise.
Today is Memorial Day. A day of honoring all those that served and died serving us. Remember that and enjoy your close ones this day.

I agree with you, we all need to slow down and appreciate those around us and in or life....

After all this is our life!

We may not always appreciate others opinions or views but we can still appreciate the things about each other we do have in common. When people say things I do not agree with I just chalk it up to they have the right to believe and feel what they desire.......and so do I.....no problem,it's ok.

Yes all those around us have something to contribute to the world around us and influence us in one way or another....sometimes.

I'm one who has lost many of them,to death or they have moved to another state.....so I find myself yes, daily appreciating those I do have.....around me.

I tend to keep my mouth shut, unless it's saying something good or encouraging someone or just sharing a thought......and being chosey about what I share at that!

I'm more of a listener or in this case reader..........

Have a Great Memorial Day! Love.............

If it weren't for them we wouldn't have the freedoms we hold dear.....

"Thank You Veterans!"

Oh, Barbara, I'm so sorry. Losing a parent is very difficult, and I know you will get through it. Losing my mom was tough, but I know she is still with me, as your mom will be with you. I'll say an extra prayer for your family.

She will always live in your heart.

But, still, I am saddened by your loss. You have my condolences.

We are all flowers, or weeds in a garden; never knowing when the gardener will come to take us. One day we are surrounded by loved ones, the next we find ourselves staring at those very loved ones from afar as we bury them.
