I adhere to the morals and values that I was taught growing up. Honesty, hardwork, and commitment are some of them and I apply them to all areas of my life...not just relationships! I find they help keep me on the path I am on and out of trouble..lol

No,I was a rebel, still am in some ways. Our parents do not necessarily teach what is correct for us. Mine did the best they knew how to, but it wasn't right for me.

lynn, i think that deep down, the 'morals' that we were taught as children never go away... we either walk by them (albeit unconsciously) or rebel against them (consciously)... however, in the 'dating' arena, those morals need to be adjusted with the times... if we all lived by the dating mores of our parents' time, none of us would be here (online) and few of us would progress beyond and kiss and a grope before marriage.

All of us have our own morals and values that develop over a life time. Honesty and commitment are the biggest issues. If you're not committed then that needs to be evident. You can cause someone to hurt you in more ways than one if you mislead or give them unwanted surprises.

I agree, Kenny and Uh... someways I am like them... someways I am not. Dad never would have lived with anyone.. though his mother told me I should have lived with my ex first. My dad wasn't like his parents either.

Basic morals perhaps , but my parents are from the old country and some things were not permitted.
I respect my mom's point of view , but on some things i don't necessary agree with her.
I try to pass some values to my kid ,without some of the prejudices i was given by my parents , this is a hard thing to do , as i struggle with right and wrong and my upbringing.
