Thank you for the reminder. I did all that was mentioned on my last date a week ago but I did not fasten her seat belt. I will remember that next time.

It took awhile to get use to the seat belt thing but if guy wants to do for me I'm not going to spoil his fun.

Here if you reach for the seatbelt..I for one would run..thats scary
My hubby opens the car door for me all the time and I kid him that all he has to do is click the key ring and the door will open..LOL but he insists, says its his way of showing respect..

It just dawned on me, That if I was reaching across to fasten the seat belt, it would aford another chance to grab another kiss or Two, if we had progressed that far.

The only door I would open for my ex is the door on her casket. "Just kidding" please don't write me

I do the door thing for ladies.Walk on the outside of the sidewalk,I like giving lil surprises like flowers "just cause" but when getting out of the car she is on her own, getting in I usually help and check to see if she unlocks the door for me..
But as for seatbelts you on your own.
Some of us would not have even been born if our parents had to wear seatbelts.I remember how proud and good it felt to have your best lady setting beside ya.

I remember when a thing on Dear Abbey in the papers, where a sort of thread on whether you walk on the sidewalk side or not, The streets being paved and water puddles being few and far between, so the splashing was at a minimum, the gentleman, was to walk on the opposite side to intercept any muggers jumping out of a alley to try to grab her or her purse. I do not remember what the tally was over the course of the week or so the articles ran.

I open doors for everyone, regardless of sex. If I'm there first and someone is following I hold the door...isn't that just common courtesy? Now buckling her seatbelt hmmm thats a new one on me...I agree with minsk it would give ya a window of opportunity for a quick kiss...cool move.
Do you guys remember the movie, A Bronx Tale? Theres a cute scene where a father figure mobster is telling a kid to make sure he "tests" his girl on their first date about common courtesy. If she passes, then proceed with her, if she fails, fageddabouther! The "test" is when you park in front of her house, you get out of your car, lock your doors and proceed to her doorstep. You escort her back to your passenger side door, with your key unlock only her door, assist her into her seat (not belt) and shut her door.... the clincher...by the time you walk to your side of the car she should have reached across the seat to unlock your door if not then fageddabouther!

Now I have to be honest with this. Yes I agree it is common courtesy to open the door for anyone as I do the same. It's especially nice to see the younger people do it for you without a thought--shows they were raised the right way.
Since I've been in a workforce that eliminates some of these courtesies at times, when I'm on a date I forget it. I've have started to open my own doors and been scolded for not waiting for him to do it for me. And they definitely score points with that!!

One womans trash is another womans treasure.
BTW, I hold the door open for anyone that I see approaching , yes, men too, and I always say "thank you" when someone holds it open for me. I have even helped men on with their jackets if I see that they r having a problem, its just common curtesy.

Sure --we all like men to do those kind of things, but on the other hand us ladies need to be just that nice to the man.
I used to draw my honey's bath water, polish his shoes, make sure his clothes were laid out---just little things that made his day easier----gosh--wish I had one to spoil now---lmao:
Later folks--hugs--lotsafuninpa.

Are you describing yourself??? If so why are you single. I think most women would still love being treated this way.... we are still throw backs from the KNights and damsels, with a few exceptions. We do tend to be more indepentent and not swoon at the first sight of blood. I have brought men flowers and they loved them ,It is all how you see yourself as a man and feel confident in who you are. Don't ever let what other men think or do influence you to act any way other than what you feel comfortable doing. All I can say to this is just be sincere and not phony, we women can spot that a mile away.
