Im pretty extremist in my views(liberal) I boycott alot of stuff. I buy local. Im constantly fretting if I feel I've consumed too much food. And I've suddenly realised that all my "working on stuff" I haven't had a real friend in probably 7or8 years, and I broke up with my ex. 2 1/2 years ago. I want to start dating but there aren't any people like me where I live. So, do I just stay alone for the rest of my life like I have been? Or do I try to date some weirdo that thinks a good meal is at the McDonald's drive through? Im so confused- dont know the first damn thing about dating. Do I wait to learn how to make friends first, and keep waiting for a guy to just happen one day?

I agree with what gator59 said. Good things come to those who wait. I firmly believe that too.

"learn how to make friends first, "

no, no need for social skills,, just a waste of time....

these other posts are correct, just wait, someone for you is out there.

"there aren't any people like me where I live"

do you have three eyes or four breasts?

I would focus on communication hand in hand with confidence. If one is confident (strong mentally) noone can drag you down. You are as important as anyone. Realising that can be quite a challenge.

Hey Hippy Chick, it shouldn't be too hard to find someone who thinks like you if that is what you want. Go to a meeting with people of like minds and see if you find anyone interesting. Go into a book store and try and notice who's picking up books on subjects you are interested in. But then again opposites do attract sometime. How important is it to find someone that is similar to you?
