Over the years, the topic of prostitution has come up every so often.

Most of the men who have been in mixed group conversations seem to think prostitution is not so bad. Even so, most of us have never paid a prostitute for her favors. My personal reason for never having done so, (while single), had more to do with fear of disease, than morals. Most men do not have a big problem with women who choose prostitution for a profession. (Unless she is related to him)

Women, on the other hand tend not to be in favor of prostitution. (Not even a little bit)

So why the difference of opinion?

Michael

PS---I have an answer, but I would like to see yours first

You say: Most men do not have a big problem with women who choose prostitution for a profession. (Unless she is related to him)

Bite your lip--have you ever spoken to such a person who may have personal reasons to support and defend why she would enjoy such a profession...drugs, being young and lifeless are some i'm speaking of...actually no one would love this indusrty unless desparate...there isn't any glory here as maybe they may have to pay pimps etc for one reason alone...

You continue to say: My personal reason for never having done so, (while single), had more to do with fear of disease, than morals.

OK that's your reason but what if a man does not have a good relationship right at the moment with their spouse at home and may seek a role playing partner to have the sex and conversation missing at home while take in consideration if they divorce it is more costly if that has to happen then to just take care of the needs of the day...what about women that feel the same way and figure out a way to cheat too...Why just men--women play the game too and i don't mean anyone via the forums unless they are pushing fake profiles here being attached and really aren't led by the shady images of people not posting a picture with their profiles--

in my opinion esp if you are worried about diseases etc You say: Women, on the other hand tend not to be in favor of prostitution. (Not even a little bit)

what is that based on--esp if you do not take part in such play being a (while single), --is that counting married women, separated or divorced or actually women cheating too--my point is i don't think all the facts are given here--but i believe a man seeks out a prostitute to avoid divorce and risk losing or having to reduce his castle but what if the wife is the bread winner what is her excuse herself--i bet the answer is the same--

Sorprano,

Sorry, I did not toss this out to hurt anyones feelings, or to make anyone angry. I was just trying to toss out something to talk about.

My post was based on a few conversations that popped up over the years. (while I was with groups of friends from various dance clubs) I have no first hand knowledge, and no scientific knowledge about the topic. I was not actually talking about prostitution, I was talking about what men and women think about it.

The small sample of men who I have heard talk about it, tend to focus on the poor, (usually uneducated), girl who must resort to prostitution in order to make a living.
The small sample of women, tend to think about married men, (or men in committed relationships), who go to prostitutes.

Notice I did not title the post as something like, "What do you think about married men, (or single men), who have to buy sex?" If I wanted to start trouble, that is the title I would have used. However, that is not the question I asked.

It is a matter of private, personal conscience...... What two consenting adults do within the confines of their private abode(s)to please, compliment, help and pleasure each other, is entirely their own business, and no one else's.

What's the difference in a woman on the streets selling her body and one living in sin with a man? She is still prostituting her body for food, shelter, clothing etc. I believe in the Bible and what did Jesus tell the adulterous woman?

Sunshine, women who live with men are NOT prostitutes! Many live with men because they don't need to get married. Doesn't mean there isn't love involved. Many live with a gentleman and support him financially....
