maybe that's what you should have told her--about the spark growing and that you were definitely interested but like to take it slow to see if it can work this time. Still tell her she had possibilities. I hate going on a date and not even have someone want to hold my hand or else see a little something in the eyes when I'm not suppose to be looking!! No, I don't mean jump into bed but that you find her attractive enough to see again!

sometimes things said...such as I like things to develop slowly" can be seen as a put off too....I don't know that I would want to hear that on a date....

In "her" defense maybe she just wasn't as interested in you, as you were in her....
It happens...

I think when things do not go as planned on a date, such as the restaurant being closed due to bad weather (not for lack on your part), is an opportunity to learn more about that person by the way they handle the sudden change in plans. I get the impression she did not handle it well. When things do not go as planned and the guy starts to get irate and bad mouthing, instead if accepting the fact chit happens, it's a turn off for me. (You do not strike me as the type to have done that, I'm just talking in general).

I agree Shez, and sometimes unexpectancies turn out for the better...
I get to know the gentleman on the phone first, before I accept a date. Then from getting to know them I purchase a small trinket about something they have mentioned on the phone..
I had a first date with a gentleman last Saturday night and I purchased a $2.00 keychain with a Steelers logo on it, because during our phone conversations he had mentioned he enjoys football and his favorite team is Pittsburgh. You would have thought I had purchased him the whole franchise he was so touched by my thoughtfulness. It broke the first meeting "ice" and was a topic of conversation for us.
