Actually, I received an AARP card at age 50, which every "seniors discount" place accepts. I used mine the first day, I felt it was an honor to have made it to a half century.
I mainly use my card for a particular clothing store here in the area. On Tuesdays they also have another 30% off, so with the two combined it is a fantastic deal.
I use it proudly, like a badge of honor............

Hate to tell you Law, but you can join AARP at any age. I joined at 35 because I was taking care of my mother and I wanted to read everything anybody had to say about taking care of their disabled parents.
I will say that AARP used to have great discounts, up to 40 percent. I have not seen much better than ten percent lately. By the way, you can usually get the same ten percent off just by asking for it. (even without an AARP card)
If you belong to AAA, that card can get the same discount. Sometimes telling where you work will also get you a a discount.

Sunshine,
Perhaps you can start a topic about how to save, and where to get the best service.

Michael, you can join AARP at any age, but you can not receive discounts and their benefits until age 50 plus. I am responding to the thread and the topic of discounts.
