you're so right jesk, no point in having "trophies" in a life you're trying to move ahead in. that kind of stuff is only baggage that you have to haul around. no need to recall any painfull issues eiether daily or periodically when you're healing.

I always try to contact the person, my mail if necessary (lol) to return any items. I have even sent them priority mail once since the accumulated items were small.
I know it is a pain, although I eventually box the items up and hold them for a couple of months. If I recieve no contact then I toss the items.
Always try to take the high road.....

If the man gets the house and kids
then all the house hold items, such as furniture and appliances should stay with him
but, any female fancy dishes, you know the dishes most men are afraid to touch for fear of breaking, or furniture to hold such items should go to the woman, plus any female items in bedroom, personal items ect.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
If the woman gets house and kids
same as above
except man has right to take his man stuff, boats, pool tables, guns furniture that holds these kind of items, dead deer heads ect. plus tools she will NEVER actually use.
please do clean the sheds, but leave basic tools, and lawn mowers and weed eaters for her.
engagement ring goes back to man
wedding ring stays with both parties, to do as they please

that is what I believe.

Return personal items. Things you acquired together it gets complicated. All I asked for in my divorce and he agreed was to share the pic albums that I made during the 20 YEARS, like a cruel punkass little b*tch he has played games and pretended he would get around to it. 5yrs of asking for them I go over to his house and tell him he has taken long enough. I have always treated him with respect and now those days are over and our grown kids feel it.I cussed him for the first time in all those years. And now I have a major anger issue because of this. Retun what you agree to turn or fight it out in court. I left him everything because I felt guilty and this is what you get. I don't like being this mad.

As much as you can grab and as fast as you can haul it away...but really most things are objects / material stuff...now if it was passed down from family it stay's with whomever it was meant to be with...if it was a okay (not many are) break up - then give and get a little...if kids are left behind - don't take everything - and they sleep on floors...gifts within the last yr or so should just be handed over...fair is fair...rings yes give back...otherwise just settle it like adults.
