Haven't been dancing in a long time, ex didin't like to dance. I love it! I took tap dancing until I was a freshman in High School. I wanted to become a professional dancer. To long a story to get into why I didn't. I especially love to slow dance. To be embraced and dance all night! Well not ALL night?

Soprano, I hope I never use a line as weak as that one! My friends can look fine after themselves and I can't use them as a feeble excuse (they'd laugh at me too). I usually go out alone, too, not in groups so I'd really be in trouble if he asked where they were.

I loved school dances when I was a kid--and when we were really younger dancing was taught in gym class. Most of us took dance lessons at Arthur Murray school--a chain outfit popular back then. Friday nights at the CYO and Saturday at the jewish Community center in Highland Park. So I still like slow dancing but there is no where nice to go. The Westwood in Cranford was the last place I found but it closed. The Brielle Yacht club has nice music but the place gets too crowded to really move around on the floor. besides that--it is the same people every Saturday night. The only free women are married to men who went south with the boats for the winter--and I am not interested in a winter relationship---that is really a lowlife deal. It would be fun to open a club for dancing the way we used to dance--oldies, Sinatra, Big bands, a little disco. No one under 50 allowed.

Sugah, I have been dancing all my life too. I started before I was five and continued until I graduated from high school. My husband and I had a band and before I ran sound, the wives, girlfriends, and I would get up and dance in front of the band. Then the others would get up and dance. My musician friends love to see me come listen to them. I get up and dance and soon the others do too. Whenever music is playing, I am usually moving. I was told I wouldn't like the electronic dance music. If it has a beat, I can dance to it. I am good at the cupid shuffle and working on superman by soldier boy. Sometimes when the young'ns dance in a circle I think of fertility rites. Of course I like the big band sound with the graceful dances. I have done the highland fling when in college with the bagpipe band. (played the pipes also) Still have some platform shoes for disco. chuckling. Loved watching Guy Lombardo count down New Years Eve.
Yes I would like to see a great big dance floor here.
