I sailed the Atlantic on the QE II, it was interesting, but I enjoyed the flight home on the Concorde much more! I wish the concorde had not been decommissioned. Fuel efficiency has affected many things in our lives..thus electric cars.
The Concorde was a trip of a lifetime.

I went from New York, across the Atlantic to England. We sailed past the White Cliffs of Dover and came in about 200 miles South of London, as I recall. We had a car chaufered waiting to take us to London,(as I recall it was a Black Bentley) I was tired and ready to get GOING..
I will have to look at the landing port name on my tickets. I saved everything! It was a trip of a lifetime...3 or 4 days in New York prior to sailing, dinner at many lovely restaurents, shopping, and 5 nights 6 days on the Atlantic sail, 30 days in Europe, and then home on the faster than the speed of sound..2 mile high bird.
I get wishful thinking of that fab trip...life was so different then...you could travel internationally and not be afraid of the terrorists..It was 1987.

think you find it is Southhampton...that is where docked/disembarked....
we had some excitement our first time...there was an emergency, had to reroute to new Foundland, it was a like a movie...helicopters, the lift basket...the leg wrap of the spouse....believe me it was amazing to me, but i don't know I could ever have it done...it of course delayed us one day....which was great till we arrived in Southhampton...it was the day before the offical start of the Queens jubilee...hotel rooms, flight, and everything that goes along with that made the getting on the return flight very difficult....
when we did the southern route, it was totally unseasonably cold..no one had the clothing...another time it was just the opposite...
all grat fun tho...
love all crusiing...but trans is just something special....could care less about where I land, it is the crossing I love...

Wine,
Even today, there is little danger from 'terrorists'when you travel....
Terrorists are people who feel oppressed and have few means to fight back: when they do they generally attack those who oppress them, or those who side with those who oppress them.
Unless you are one of those , you can travel safely.
