ok i was talkin to this guy for awhile and he is white and so am i. But i have for quite awhile now dated outside my race. I just feel like i connect with black men better than i do white men. But he was steady hittin on me so i decided to give it an attempt. Then out of the blue the discussion about interracial dating came up. I was upfront and totally honest wit him about everything. I have no reason to hide it. And i always speak my mind and dont tend to care how anyone feels about my life or my choices or my choices in words. Well, he turns around and tells me that all white girls that date black guys are sl-ts and he is no longer interested in me cuz he does not wanna date someone out of his race let alone someone in his race that dated outside his race! Are you kidding me?!? Thats ok cuz i sure told him off and told him that i would prefer to date a black man anyway! I was just tryin to be nice and date him anyway. I always knew in the back of my mind it wouldn't work wit us. But that is just sad that my choices in my life can stop me from dating someone! But like i said no prob i will find a better man and i'm glad i didn't put no more time into datin him than i did!

Well if two people like each other it should not be a problem. OP if you have in he back of your mind that the only man that will make you happy is a black man then that is what you will attract. You have put yourself in a box and that is not good. Sometimes that which you see will pass you by because you are expecting it in a certain package.
I have always been open to whatever life throws my way, because of this I have had a few interesting adventures. The weird thing is you have a form of reverse racism and that is very sad. I have had a few women disqualify me because I did not speak black enough.
2010 I guess I will wait until 2011 of change!

That is because the majority of White guys won't want you after you have mixed.
This was a choice you made, so don't blame the White guys.

It is not different then me having tats.
some women look past them and want to date, some see them and almost run to get away.

Well thank you very much! First encouraging words i have heard for awhile now.  and you are right it does have alot to do wit the family and how they are raised. Cuz to be honest my kids dad is VERY racist and his family. But i dont allow him to speak about it around our children. It's just very sad how people can teach their children such bad things!

Here we go with the "announcing" again. I think you may be racist. Or you are angry.
When someone has to point out on a public forum or get on a pedestal and announce, "I date outside of my race" or feel the need to exclude in favor of another race then yes, you have an issue.
Everyone has preferences. But this goes beyond a preference. It is, "Hey,,look at me! I like black men!"
It is no different than a white person going on a forum or public pedestal and screaming, "I would never date a black person!!" Same thing. Except most people do not have enough anger and resentment to get up and do that,,it is rude. Even if that is their preference.
I think it is more of an anger or childhood issue than it is a racism thing, but the act or the public exclusion and proclaimed preference is a bit racist.
You're too involved in what you are doing to have an ability to see this unbiased or at least admit it.
But a good counselor would help.

so i just want to clarify that i am not racist toward any ethnicity. I just happened to end up dating that race. Is it wrong for someone to match up better with another race at the time? That does not mean that i would never date another race just that that is who i have related with better at that point and time! I think it's pure ignorance to think that i would be racist toward my own race when i have children with a white man! I just chose at the time to date who i wanted and always will date who i want. Whether that be white, black, or any other race that i am compatible with. It's not the race its the type of person they are! i think there would be a lot more interracial relationships if it wasn't for the 'social' issues.....sad but so,,,,,still up and running in the south....negativity from society can play a large part in the decicion making process....i was born and raised with that KKK society...which absolutely has NO level of acceptance to me....so please don't stick me in the 'guilty by association' category...i'm just relaying my observations for the last 53 years.....if i went back home in my state with a black, asian or islamic partner....we'd both be shunned....but here...in atlanta....it is an everyday thing....i wouldn't think about it at all here,,,,,but in some other places....i wouldn't even entertain the idea......way to painful....and life gives us all enough of that already.......jmo.......
