Nope...Earthquakes happen everyday somewhere in the world...just has a spate of larger ones together because of the 'Ring of Fire' knock on effect that is theorized.
The big ones have all been on located around the 'ring of fire' and the theory is that one will cause a chain of others around the pacific ring...statistically they are nothing.

As the destruction of the Earth is guaranteed (the sun in 4 billion years will become a red giant and consume the Earth) there are MANY predictions about the end of the world..not just the bible..
I predict Tomorrow the sun will rise....does that mean I foresaw the future..no It means I'm guessing based on previous days that it will.
The predictions of death and destruction are also based on the fact that death and destruction has been a part of life since before we crawled out of the sea.
But so many people are dying from these earthquakes
Because of poor building construction...the one in china was only 6.9 or so....the deaths came from the buildings collapsing.

The quake in cali was a 7.6 and we felt it here in AZ.

If the world ends it ends. Not really something people should be worrying about in their day to day lives when there is so much other crap to deal with.
I know but doesn't it make ya think... why worry about all that other crap too when one day the world is gonna end and as for today.. lets just be happy it's here and enjoy it and each other

I think our worst problem will be a period of unrest from some that buy into the idea that if the world is going to end, they will not be punished for bad behavior.

Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on.
No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.
A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value large enough to wipe out most of the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year's time. For all four sources, it's the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

The earth has been relatively docile during mans short existance on it. There have been many periods prior to man where it has been very volitile so what is happening is nothing new. As a matter of fact by all calculations the volcano that resided under Yellowstone National Park is due to erupt and day now, give or take a few hundred thousand years. When that happens it will probably take out all life in the 5 or six states surrounding it. You have to understand that the "earth" doesn't care about humanity. Itjust continues to do the things it has done for millions of years.

yes i do believe that their is a day that the world as we know it will end. will it be 2012? i dont know. the only reason people get concerned about this is because we are a media generation. we want our new and we want it graphic. and we want it now. many many are sensitive to this type of thing. bad things pray on their mind. is jesus coming back in 2012? i dont know. but he said that their would be thngs that would happen that will usher in his comming.

The Bible declares that Jesus will be the final judge of the world (John 5:22, Acts 10:42 and 2Timothy 4:1). Some of the additional verses describing the second coming, resurrection of the dead, millennium, and final judgment are located in Acts 17:31, 1Thessalonians 4:13-5:11 and Hebrews 10:27. as i said we are a mass media generation.
dont think for one second that these events wont be covered and shown.
O…Obvious. There are over 6 billion people on the planet. God only knows what percentage are truly Christians, but let's use a conservative number like 10%. If this is true, over 600,000,000 people will vanish from the earth simultaneously according to Matthew 24:40. There will be no mistaking when Christ comes back for His Church!
in other words you just cant loose that many people from the face of the earth at one time with out someone noticeing. i watched 2012. it was a on your seat the whole time type of movie. loved it. but it does make people anxious about such things. remember movie makers are out to make movies. they like the wow effect. if they didnt they wouldnt me making movies like that.

Just because the news is proliferated more wide spread these days because there's basically a camera in every piece of technology and so many organizations trying to create news departments doesn't mean anything is different. Just like the kids on the bus who told you 1999 was the end of the world because "backwards" (and upside down?) it really means 666 (the devil) in 1 year, you'll just have to hold back urges of smearing their stupidity in their face when nothing happens. It's ALWAYS something and people will use anything happening in real life to justify their belief in whatever, trying to prove there is a god, there isn't a god, the end of the world is coming, or whatever makes them think they are more than the bumpkins they are. The only way to combat idiocy is by ignoring it socially, and if there were any foul play with extremist groups trying to blow up the world, kill them. Plain and simple, it's what we've been doing, so keep it up...

Could very well be. Have you checked out NASA lately. According to them and the government, there is a huge astroid headed our way. Impact may be imminate or we just may escape by a near miss. If it hits earth, anything can happen.
Not only that, the planets ar aligning. Three are already three in line, causing the earth to slightly shift on it's axis. Each time one gets in line there will be sight earth tremors as it shifts on it's axis. When all are in line the earth should be back in complete alignment on it's axis or poles. True North and south. At that time, the earth will stand still for a short period. Like a rolling ball that you stop with your foot.
Something to start thinking about. This has already happened to other planets and stars.
