Needs constant gratification, maybe a little more expensive than some, for sure takes more time than some. Expects expensive gifts. Can't love a person for the person, but can love monetary value.

It has nothing to do with money.
High Maintenance means "Constant Attention". A guy dating a girl who is "High Maintenance" has to call her hourly. Tell her where he going and what he is doing. He has to take her out. Doesn't has to be fancy, but out of the house. He has to go to all her friend get to gether. He has to spend xmas at her family house. He has to spend New Years with her friends.
Those are a few examples. A guy spend his time, and their time entertaining her. That dating a person who is "High Maintenance".
If it was money issue then she would be called a "Gold Digger".

THANKS NICK FOR THE LINK.....I bet you might be surprised by some of the answers women
may post. This was my result....
You Are Low Maintenance
Otherwise known as "too good to be true"
You're one laid back chica - and men love that!
Just remember that no good guy likes a doormat.
So if you find your self going along to get along...
Stop yourself and put up a little bit of a fight.
I liked this little quiz and will share it with a couple of gal friends...
Hawaii...........you are an observant man...
How is dating in Hawaii........???
Fun to get a DH group to go to Hawaii in April (after Spring Break) and sit in the sun and
drink tropical drinks.
All the best...and this was an interesting post...thanks for the ideas.

A person who spends a lot of time and money to enhance their image and appearance. they typically like brand name items and spend a lot on personal care.
There are cases when these so called high maintenance people don't even have "a pot to piss in" (figure of speech)

My results High Maintenance means needy, emotionally.
***You Are Medium Maintenance***
You aren't as hard to deal with as some girls
But you aren't the most laid back chick either
You're easy to deal with 90% of the time, but watch out for that 10%!
If the guy you are with has good intentions, then calm down a little
But if he's really screwing up, don't waste your breath - move on

You are not high maintenance. You are a Taurus. Like me, you just like nice things. Art, a nice home, a nice car.....and you take care of what you have. You like to be comfortable. And you are willing to work hard for what you have. Chances are you would take good care of your guy too. I am a Taurus as well. I don't pay much attention to astrology...but I do match the Taurus description very well. I bet you do too. The right guy would be lucky to have you.

Everyone has a different opinion on this topic... "high maintenance" is usually referrenced about women. High Maintenance to me isn’t a financial issue, exclusively or about a woman being demanding. I consider myself high maintenance in the sense that I am very particular about my appearance. Being highly groomed which includes nail polish, good make up, classical/business clothes, etc. on a daily basis.
What I think is wrong is when a woman demands these things from someone when she isn’t capable of providing them for herself. Or when she forces a man to go into debt just to maintain a facade, which isn’t affordable for either of them. A man complying with such demands need to reassess his involvement with this type of woman and bid her farewell. JMO

Reenie - What I think is wrong is when a woman demands these things from someone when she isn’t capable of providing them for herself. Or when she forces a man to go into debt just to maintain a facade, which isn’t affordable for either of them.
Explain what a "Gold Digger" is?
Everyone keep listing money for "High Maintenance" and it has nothing to do with money.
Everytime I used or my friend used the phrase "High Maintenance" it was when a gf/wife/lover calls a bunch of times within a short period of time, for whatever reason.
That is "High Maintenance"
Money issue is a "Gold Digger".
when she forces a man to go into debt just to maintain a facade, which isn’t affordable for either of them
If this isn't a gold digger then I would love to know what one is.
The guy on the phone outside a club ASKING for additional half hour to have one more drink with his friends inside the club has a "High Maintenace" woman.
The guy who ask if it is ok to stop off after work to have a drink with his co-workers and during the time he having a drink, his phone rings every 15 minutes asking him when will be home. He has a High Maintenance Woman.
The guy who cancel out on poker night because he afraid to ask his girl if it is "OK", has a High Maintenance woman.
A guy who turn down front row playoff tickets because he promised his woman he take her shopping. He has a High Maintenance Woman.
A guy who watching a game and is constantly called out of the room to do something for his woman, has a High Maintenance woman.
Money has nothing to do with being High Maintenance. It all about attention. A woman or man who requires a lot of attention is High Maintenance.
This is a guy answer to your question, from a guy who goes out and about and has a fair share of friends. If anyone of my friends were talking to a girl who had anything to do with money, we would refer to her as a Gold Digger. Plain and simple. But if it deal with attention she is High Maintenance. Now we might be nice and say to one of our friend girl..."You are High Maintenance"..but we are being nice and really calling her a Gold Digger. Women don't mind being called High Maintance, but they hate being called a Gold Digger.
