I've been wondering this......when someone tells you they are "Financially Stable"...what does that mean to you..???

I've been wondering this......when someone tells you they are "Financially Stable"...what does that mean to you..???
It means that you had to pic that, cause there was no choice of "financially unstable"

Now the rest of the story....I am on unemployment...since the place where I worked for 11 yrs burned down in Nov.....but my wage was on the high end...so it's pretty good money.
I really don't have many bills...and those I do.. are always paid on time..

So tell me...am I financially stable..???

Living with in your means, income > deit, not a slave to your deit. How ever I do not feel I am financially stable, even though I can pay my bills I can't just do whatever I wish.

Sounds to me like you're financially stable and handle your money well.
Financially stable means to me that you are able to support yourself and pay your bills.

I think if you are responsible for your own debt and income - I mean truly don't REQUIRE someone else (in ANY relationship capacity) being in the picture for you to live to your standards - then you are financially stable.

It mean: I would ask for more information if it was my concern. But at same time to ASK, that could put a BLACK cloud over a friendship ! That's a touchy topic, prying into someones privet personal life of money. Every one handles their finances differently and all have different priorities and values. Your's most probable will be way different than others, it's just the nature of the game.

I am not one that judges people by their financial situation.
I ask this question because..I read or hear this statement often..and I was interested in how others would discribe "financially stable"....
So far..the answer is...it is all in the eyes of the beholder....

being able to pay your bills and still have some left over to have fun with some one. I have a car that is paid for. just bought a used double wide trailer that has left me a little short but i still keep up on my bills.

Let's break this down. Financially has to do with money. Stable is a place to keep a horse or horses.
Believe me if you have horses you better have money.

You are financially stable. There are no fluctuations in your income, you are not at risk, you have income, you do not have unreasonable debt, bill collectors are not after you, etc.
But, are you financially secure? That would mean you have no worries about finances at all. This would not have anything to do with how much you own, how much cash you have or the amount of your investments. It would have to do with how much you are at risk of losing it.
Two entirely different statements.Cheers.
