how about why society is so self centered The main reason I feel is that to many kids were given so much when they were growing up that they expect it given to them now. I wounder how we are supposed to get back to looking out for our neighbor when to many people think whats in it for me

Have to agree with you on some basis!
Yes society is self-centered! Again we truly have many more advantages for us as americans. We see what is out there and we get all caught up in materal stuff and who is who and where!
As for the kids given to much and expect it all. Well got to say that yes there are those out there, and man it seems to be way too many of them. But again our system these days have made it way to easy for people.

Too many people take adavantage of the welfare system.(I could comment on this all day, so I will be brief) In stead of setting standards for people to better themselves and to help themselves. They just hand them a plate and tell them here Eat!! Have more kids, work below so many hours(just to keep ur housing or get your check), and last but not least work the whole system in general. Now don't get me wrong there are people who really need it, but then toooo many of them that have it are living better than people that are working 80-85 hrs every two weeks to just make it and still struggling.

So yes let me end there, You do have a point. People are more self centered these days, but lucky for people like you and me, we know what really matters. And when it is said and done we will feel on top in the long run for all that we do for others around us.

I rambled, but people ARE straying away from faith, cultural, and intellectual values and turning to the material stuff to satisfy them in life!

What a shame!!!!!

yes it is a shame and very few of us are willing to try to change things. I have five neighboring families on this road and sad to say that three of them are on welfare or disability and they have all the kids on the road while we others go bust our tail to make it better for ourselves to come home and see them in the front yard getting drunk (wonder where they get the money for beer?) and yelling at their kids. I have nothing wrong with drinking provided you do it after your done with work and no getting drunk is not a paying job.

When you wake up every morning to go to work, just remember millions of people on welfare are depending on you!!! Our socitiy has become to damn lazy, all they want to do is sit on their ass and collect that check from the government. I have never in my life had anything handed to me, I either worked for it to earn it, or I done without it. I felt like an ass, having to swallow my pride to ask my Dad to co-sign my loan when I bought my house. I don't see how people can live off the government and tax payers like they do. I work a 40 hour week just like everyone else to pay my bills, keep a roof over my childrens heads, clothes on their back and food on their plates. Some days its a struggle to make ends meet, but there will NEVER be a day I rely on the government to pay a damn dime for me! I know some members of socitity "think" ALL single parents are on welfare, I hear it everyday. I would be happy just to receive child support, but I know I can go to bed at night knowing it is ME providing for my children and teaching them NOT to be a drain on our economy.
What I think is sad, how self centered some people are, like my neighbors. I have lived in this neighborhood for a year now, and still do NOT know not a one of my neighbors. They are the most stuck up, think they are better than everyone assholes. When I see them out in the yard, I try and say hi, they just turn around and walk the other direction, I wave and they look the other way. Maybe I am to used to the small town values from when I lived in Nebraska, where people actually care about EVERYONE, whether they knew you or not. There was no strangers, just friends waiting to happen.
Ok I will shush up for now.

missing out it is women like you who I have more respect for than anything else in the world. While some women think lets see who many ways I can get money for my kids, It is women like you who are proud and think "I will do it myself no matter how hard it is" My applause

Why is it no one wants to give their two cents on a thread worth discussing? Instead we have to be bored with reading the same shit over and over. Anyone from such and such place, girls how do I look, guys do you think I am hot. To bad this site didn't give you the option to "delete" a thread if it is redundant, down right stupid. I can only imagine the conversations some people have in emails and IM when all they are worried about is looks. Frankly I don't give a damn what a person thinks about my looks, there is more to me than my looks, if you cant get beyond how I look on the outside, you sure the hell are not worth my time. There is more to life than who looks like the next super model or the next stud muffin. Are people to closed minded they just can't think?

Because there are only very few of us that care more about other things besides looks.

Its funny, yet sad, no matter what new topics we try and bring up, its the same group of people that reply. Do people not have opinions anymore? I think its funny when some people read what I post on a forum, than message me about it rather than posting for others to see. I dont care if your going to talk shit to me in a message or if you actually like what I posted, post it for everyone to see, so we all know you have an opinion. And for the love of God people, if you actually read my profile you will see I have a sense of humor, dont get so damn uptight when you read something I post. Maybe I should say "sorry" now if your going to take it personal.
