I'm another yepper!
It was a roller coaster of emotions and communication (or lack of) and in the end
we tried parting as friends but that didn't work out. So it ended cold turkey!

Don't know about him but a piece of 'my heart' will always hold a special place for him.

The heart is a funny thing with a mind all it`s own,
It withers like a garden, left untended and alone.
And the thorns of loneliness invade,
and destroy what they can`t steal
So easy to hurt, but oh so hard to heal.

I know cause I`ve had it happen to me
time and time again, and it feels like being
let down by your one and only friend.
So do fool yourself by saying,
that it wont hurt, the pain ain`t real
so easy to hurt, but oh so hard to heal.

I believe these verses above were written by Larry Gatlin,
I was reminded of the song when I saw the thread title.

Never opened up online, too easy to get it ripped out, and ripped off.

Whether on line or in the real world, if you open up you lend yourself to getting hurt.
BUT ... if nothing ventured, then nothing can be gained. You have to take risks in life
in order to live it. If you shut down and don't let people in, then you might as well be
dead. Life will become a long drawn out monotony of "Nothing!" that will truly eat away
at your soul.

I promised myself "NEVER AGAIN!" but after picking myself up and dusting off the hurt
and mending the pain, I feel that I am ready again to try for love once more. A little
more careful & cautious and definitely more wiser, 'Here I Am!' my heart is open once
more to a new possibility!

It doesn't do you any good to open your heart up on line. It will subject you to something that can be used against you later on.

Now I know ladies and gentleman on here are going to deny it, but unfortunately it is true more often than not.

Why leave the trail that can be followed and exploited anyway, people being the way they are will just try to manipulate it to their advantage.

Go ahead and send the hate mail. Go ahead and put up the hate posts. I know I for one won't respond to them, but having had it happen to me.. I also know the truth.

I wouldn't say I opened my heart. More like someone took a chisel and started chipping away at it a little bit at a time. Not that I'm complaining. It just might come back to life one of these days.

I have opened up my heart both in person and online. I had met the person in question first though. I don't care which way you go, you are either going to find THEE one or be hurt.

You can't put yourself out there looking, if you are not willing to take the risk. I believe whole heartedly that there is that someone out there looking for me, just like I am looking for them. The broken heart pain is like childbirth...soon forgotten once you are holding that person in your arms for the rest of your life.

I always say...You will never know the depth of the love without experiencing the pain of the loss. I have been shredded a few times. But I am not giving up.

for some ppl it may b good for them to open up on the internet. after all, siiting in front of a monitor, typing away at your keyboard, there's still a distance between u, and whoever u r talking to. as opposed to the alternatives. if it helps purge your burden or sorrow, i say, why not? however, as we have seen this morning, some ppl r out there to leach onto your heartstrings and try to take advantage of u. and it's too bad, because there really is some very wonderful ppl on this site. however, for the jackels who want to conduct themselves in a manner less befitting that of a human. this is for u. i'm here. i'm right here. i will come after u, and if i don't, someone else will pick up the gauntlet, and come after u. u can run, but u sure as hell can't hide. you'll change your profile, but you'll still b pondscum. your soul may belong to jesus, but your ass belongs to me! and ye best pray that our paths not cross. for the hell you will face will be immeasurable. got it! r we clear? R WE CLEAR?

Well I'm pretty open but not so much online because things get easily misconstrued in print.
On the phone is where I get to know someone. You write someone for a awhile and then get their phone number.

I don't see how you can suffer heartbreak online. When someone fades away from me I just consider it their loss.

To love is to risk pain & it is definitely worth

taking the chance. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
