Try actually getting to know them first , a few exchanges of emails , then ask to be added to their friends list.
Saves people the hassle of having to delete "friends" they don't talk to.

I get friends requests from people that I have only said a few things to. I usually just wait until I have talked to them for a while or get to know them better as it is easier to track my friends. Hard to do if I have a lot of "aquaintances" on also.

I don't take request unless we have met here in forum or have exchanged quite a few emails.

Perhaps they are looking for an introduction email. Email them tell them your interested, perhaps tell them a bit about yourself.

Why would you send a friend request to someone youve never emailed or spoken with?

I'm confused here also. I have been on this web-site 3 day's now, sent three different e-mail's to 3 different gal's, and none of my e-mail's were answered either. I'm beginning to wonder if i am ugly or something. Maybe i'm being to forward about myself, i don't know, i'm new at this. please help me out people, thanks!

Ok - I'm going to answer this one really HONESTLY...

For me - I don't accept friend requests of just "anyone" I only accept friend requests of people who I have e-mailed back and forth with and are "friends" in the online sense of the word.

I do not accept friend requests of total strangers any more than I'd invite one home to my house for dinner if they winked at me on the street...

You see? Same principle.

This is only my opinion and may not be the same as any other women on line here...but that's my take on it.

I take the word friend very seriously and am very protective of my friends.I prefer to keep them in my heart not out on my profile page where they could get harassed. Been there done that.

I agree with GoneSailingbabe, I have gotten friend requests from people I have never even seen onthe forums or gotten an email from. I don't accept those.

I only have accepted the ones that I have met on the forums or have chatted with in emails. How can I be your friend if I don't even know you?

That is not a good way to find out if somneone is interested. Try an email just to say hello.

I2kids44, you can not feature your friends so they are not at the bottom of your profile, that is what I do
