I dont' think it matters so much who calls first...
I think it matters.... if BOTH are comfortable with the phone call.
I'm not a big rusher - I don't really push ro rush to speak on the phone
to me that's another level of intimacy with this DH site...
Sure okay it's just a phone call - but have you ever had someone blow your cell phone up with text messages and voicemails?
Once they have your number....prepare to answer.
And that brings on all new issues 0 why didn't she answer, why is she ignoring me, where is she and who is she with,,,these are entanglements I don't want in my life...

This is the best answer. If you want to turn this into a battle of the sexes. Then the woman should cook, clean, and take care of the children. But like she said. 21st Century. 50/50.

Well I personally will be the one calling the man first.
I will ask for the number. I will make the call with my number
blocked at first. Then when I am comfortable, I will give him my number.
I have never had a problem with this, but you know it is what you feel comfortable with.
I do prefer after a while to have the man call more often, than I call till we are in an
established relationship then who cares.
I have just found this works for me.

i agree with sitkarains to a certain degree. i can agree at first, especially online if a woman wants to call first and block her number until she feels comfortable. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. She gets to know about him instantly instead of emails. She can hear what he sounds like, inflection, emotions verbally and so forth.
Now here is where many people make the mistake. They play phone ego. Who calls who, when, taking score etc... That is too high school. We are all adults and it shouldn't matter who calls who. If you want to call just pick up the phone. But some get into the mode of "I just called him 2 times and he hasn't called me yet or vice versa" The only time one should worry if there is a HUUUUUUUUUGE DIFFERENCE in calling.

I've asked women for their number in public.
Also, there have been times in public, I would have conversation with a new lady, and give her my number to call me. Everyone knows about *67. If she wants to block her number, that's fine because I know what I can bring to the table.
FIRST REMEMBER THIS. A MAN DOESN'T CHOOSE THE WOMAN. A WOMAN CHOOSES A MAN ALWAYS.

I give my number out for a couple of reasons.
1. You will know for sure if she's interested when she calls you. It's up to you to keep her interested.
2. If she has a boyfriend or not interested, she will not call you.
3. She may be dating, but something about you has sparked an interest, so she will call you.
Plenty, Plenty, Plenty of times when a man asks for a number one of the following would occur.
1. He will soon realize that she gave him a wrong number (she's taken)
2. He will call and she will put him off by saying "I'm busy" (she has someone already)
3. She won't answer, and he will leave constant messages for her and she will be laughing at his messages with NO INTENT OF CALLING Why? She's already taken or simply not interested.
4. She may be interested and give him the time of day.
Now am I saying never ask a woman for her number? No... Am I saying that nothing positive will happen if a woman gives a man her number? No.
I'm basically saying things that do occur and the reasons therein.

I agree with you sooooo much and comming from a female men it is true. We will not call unless interested and if by chance we give our numbers and DONT return your phone calls or say we are busy will call you back and dont we are not interested!!!!!

Traditionally the man should call first, however I don't see an issue if a woman makes the first call either.

I call first, that way I can block my number if I don't feel good about the conversation. After I am in my comfy zone then I'll call without the block feature.
