And...what if YOU are a Nigerian male, posing as an American female, and the link you want to send us to-for ID-ing emailer's locations-is really a site which lets your Nigerian HQ computer place a worm/trojan horse on our computers, so you can later access our files, and steal our identities, banking info, etc?

rso - no firewall is worth a thing. I have friends who get paid to devise new ways to get past anything even the government can create to keep people out. They work for the government, but half of their time is spent breeching security that now exists, and the other half is spent devising better security to block those methods of breeching...after which they find new ways to breech, etc. Nigerian scammers have enough money to hire computer whizzes from Europe, and if they seriously want to breech your firewalls, they will manage. Electronic security is the most fleeting kind, and computer security is the most fleeting of all electronic security. If you count on Norton, or Macafee, or anything like them, for protection, you are unprotected. The scammers have figured out ways through the latest versions of such things even before those things hit the store shelves.

Just perved Nole to see what this world thing was all about. Pretty cool though I didn't like the fact it mentioned my computer and cable co. Location was close to where I live. I then played with the arrows zooming left/right/etc. Think I need Dramamine now

Perhaps, but if Interpol imposed stiff and nasty prison terms to people like the Nigerian scammers this problem would be severely curtailed. Anyone convicted of creating a computer virus gets 10 years min. That would slow down this shit real quick.

Relax, only you can see that info regarding your computer and cable co. It's benign, but might scare off the scammers.

Diamond - You've got nice music on your profile, but your locator sucks. It places me in Portland, Oregon...when I am actually 65 miles south of there. It said a friend of mine is in Lebanon, OR when he is in Dallas, OR. The locator seems to be old tech, and may be good for spotting hemisphere, nation, and state, but it gets kind of fuzzy from there on. Perhaps in bad weather, it may even get the state wrong. With the kind of skip, and blackouts, that will soon be coming from increased sunspot activity, such things will become more, and more, unreliable.

Nole - The Nigerians operate in their country, WITH their nation's police/intelligence/ etc agency's assistance. The Nigerian government takes a cut of what the scammers make. Interpol can't enter Nigeria-let alone arrest/try/fine anyone there-without the assistance of the Nigerian government...which they aint gonna get.

BTW - Did you know that Interpol was set up by the Third Reich Nazis...to track Jews?

The locator is telling everyone where your ISP is located, not where YOU actually live.
If it gets within 60 or 70 miles, it's pretty accurate, I'd say.
