For all of you who have a difficult time reading long text, you probably lugged those huge college text with remorse and resentment! If you even made it that far. And for a reality check, many of our beloved scholars and poets, writers and screen writers never stopped or worried if others could keep up or had the intellect or depth to go the distance. Some of their writings were short and some lengthy in text, as well as deep in content. No matter. They wrote for themselves. Eclectic and intrinsically different from the rest, desiring for a way to be understood all the while knowing they would always be seen as outcast. Not until years or decades later did a few begin to understand, peal back the layers of the writers pages and begin to see the machine and mystical or alchemistic proponents of the artist mind or genius. Its a liberation of sorts to write, and yes, I hope that a glimmer of connection to some of my writing is found in some of you. This is my way out, my rabbit hole to a world saturated in color or non color, images and blank spaces, the devil and God. All of you have one of these rabbit holes, whether you realize you go there or not, its there, just beyond sleep, just under the veil of a day dream, when your eyes leave this reality and drift off, and everything stands still, time is irrelevant and all things are possible! I just choose to write about what I see and feel so some of my Odyssey is captured and is transferred on paper. On another level--Thank God for Sugar Hill and Queen and their epic lyricism!!! If they never put their lengthy lyrics on vinyl where the hell would we be!! Love it!!!! Peace! For those of you who love to write, never stop and for those of you who can't seem to hold on till the end, don't forget to take a trip down that tunnel once in a while. Peace and Blessings!

Actually, authors do indeed write for their audience and strive to be understood. They don't just write to prove they know flowery words and how to string them together in a sentence. Otherwise they'd be thumbing their noses at the people whom they'd wish would read their work.

And by the way, it's 'peel' not 'peal' in the context in which you mean it. And it's not its. Its is possessive, it's is a contraction.

I thought you decided to leave the site? If you've decided to stay, welcome back.

Uh, wrong forum. This is a forum about dating. The forum on philosophy is a few doors down the hall. And BTW, what makes you think anybody has a clue what you're talking about?

High school taught me the importance of segregating my thoughts and changes in mental direction when composing literature by the use of paragraphs. Resentment of textbook weight and unnecessary use of compound and pseudo-alliterate verbiage came with college.

This would have done well in General Discussion or even the Writing Forum, just saying. I take issue with the backhanded jab about reading long text. It is not that it is difficult, it is just that some of us do not want to read an essay which at its best is bombastic and at its worst just words taking up space on a page. Your assumptions are just that assumptions and I will give them the amount of scrutiny they deserve. Have a nice day, now.

You know, a poster here, who has my respect, said he knows you to be a decent person. By posting this obvious slap at the intellect of others, you belittle that opinion and basically slap him in the process.

So,

1: You posted a big dramatic issue that said you were leaving. What that just for attention too or what?

2: Even some of the worst writers I know use an actual form and format to their writing. Even the Bible uses indentation and spaces once in a while.

3: Those same writers know their audience. You clearly don't or don't care if anyone does read what you have to say.

4: There is a forum for writing so you are off topic.

5: Look into internet etiquette some time. There are websites on the subject. Read what they say about posting the "wall of text". It's considered rude.

Lake already said all else that can be said for what you wrote. I agree with her. It's an attempt to belittle and degrade others and it fails miserably. The words that come to my mind are pompous, arrogant, and narcissistic. You've lent plenty of evidence to that as well. NOT impressed.

Look, you're clearly intelligent and have something going on for you upstairs, but shoving it down peoples throats won't get you respected. And doing that for your entertainment is just wrong.

Do you speak this way when actually conversing with others? Do their eyes glaze over?

As I think I've mentioned elsewhere, I recently made my living by writing. I was taught that coherency was the most important part of any writing, more so than spelling or grammar or punctuation or word usage. But what aids in being coherent are all of those things. Let me reword that--Spelling, grammar, punctuation, proper word usage and proper sentence structure lends coherency.

You make no sense. I have no idea of what you're trying to convey other than your supposed vast superiority and knowledge of some five dollar words, none of which actually work together.

*dodges shrapnel* Whoa! What was that? Wait a minute.

Just because it's an oxymoron doesn't make it non-existent or non-applicable. I was just backing up my point that "people think it's rude". It's a fact. People really do think it's rude. Just like posting all caps is considered SHOUTING. And there are people who think that's rude too.

Just pointing out where she could see the point for herself since she doesn't respect anyone here.

I am sometimes responsible for making people lug those books and I agree with what LTL17 said. BTW, Some of the most intelligent and successful people I've ever known don't have the ed-u-ma-kay-shun to read or comprehend what you tried to communicate but that doesn't make them any less interesting or intelligent than you or me. Reminds me of something my father said to me once. He and my mother never finished high school, but put two sons though school, have lived very comfortably most of their lives and when they retired they owned a dairy operation, a very successful construction company, a real estate firm and a country store. He once told me that he wasn't smart enough (I think he meant educated because the man is brillant when it comes to running a business) to know the way he was doing it was all wrong. At least what he was doing to make his businesses successful wasn't supposed to work according to the text books I was studying in college.

She can use big words, doesn't know what a paragraph is and thinks she is more better then us unedumacted peoples.

Paragraphs are used by real writers.

High school taught me the importance of segregating my thoughts and changes in mental direction when composing literature by the use of paragraphs. Resentment of textbook weight and unnecessary use of compound and pseudo-alliterate verbiage came with college.

Hee hee! I love this post!

The OP misspelled "prose", one of my favorite words. Now my cheeks are chapped to the point of no return.

I enjoyed your large vocabulary but not so much the lack of cohesion to your long string of random thoughts. Makes me wanna slip you a Ritalin in your Kool-Aid.

Quote from lovethelake17:
Actually, authors do indeed write for their audience and strive to be understood. They don't just write to prove they know flowery words and how to string them together in a sentence. Otherwise they'd be thumbing their noses at the people whom they'd wish would read their work.

And by the way, it's 'peel' not 'peal' in the context in which you mean it. And it's not its. Its is possessive, it's is a contraction.

I thought you decided to leave the site? If you've decided to stay, welcome back.

Ya know... you sound a lot like a school teacher
