If you read the directions for DH they make it quite clear what to and not to do.

If they're pushy about it....you're better off avoiding that person all together....they have a hidden agenda....jmo...

fisherwoman2010 Loretto, KY age: 57	I opened a hotmail messenger and email box to talk and email men from this datehookup site. I have a yahoo email with messenger, but only use it for personal. But...let me warn you about two things about giving out your email address if you use yahoo. I had made the mistake of giving a guy my yahoo email address. Next morning, I found out that he could send me instant messages as I was checking my email inbox and always knew when I was on that site. I never knew about this feature. I had to block him from my inbox and my yahoo messenger because he was a creep. Also...if you use yahoo messenger and have a facebook account, they will be able to access that by putting in your yahoo email address. I didn't know that either. If you do have a facebook account I would encourage you to make it so that only friends can view it.

arbedsamoht Indianapolis, IN age: 52	OMG I guess I broke my cherry...I've been on here a week today and the nuts are all falling out of the trees....lol Why would I put you on my friend list when we have not exchanged 1 email?? Thanks ladies for all the support that I find in here. It is so nice the way you all look out for one another and have made me feel so welcome, not to mention the great advise I have gotten. I am not giving anyone my personal email or phone number until I feel comfortable with them.

catiefaye Troy, MI age: 52	It's a good idea to use a throw-away email address for places like this for just that reason. I made up a new gmail account that doesn't show my real name. But unless I had an alternate Yahoo ID, I would never chat on messenger with someone from here. I have some friends who are police detectives and one who is a computer tech and they continually remind me to be extremely cautious online. Never put your correct birthdate nor show your last name. Also do not give out your location - like maybe the biggest nearby city. One detective said that Internet crimes are the hardest to solve - like only about 1% of the criminals are ever found. So, after contact and lots of messaging back and forth on here, if they give me their email address I give them one of mine. It's one I have that I don't use much. It's not my main one that all my friends have. This way should he start sending things to me I don't like I can cancel the account and make up another username and get another email address.

I keep the chat strickly here, and for the select few that Ive given my phone number too, well when I hear the conversation going in that direction I either change the subject or politely end the call. And they usually dont call back after a few times---men arent as brain dead as we think they get the message and move on

Last guy I let IM me was just into webcams. If you have yahoo, go into your account settings and delete anything of a personal nature. For your name but in just a period, it works.

luesgirl Cocoa, FL age: 53	I had one that kept putting the pressure on for my yahoo address, he wrote me on here for weeks so finally I gave in. The second day he had it he tried scamming me about his laptop crashing and him not having any cash on him. I gave him a web address to order a new computer and put it on his credit card since he said he was out of the country told him they'd send one to him. He wanted me to buy one for him and mail it to him. Of course he said he'd wire the money into my banking acct. I DON'T THINK SO!! THE IDIOT. I told him since he supposedly owned his own company take some of his escrow money being he had a contract out of the US and use it to buy another computer from his company funds. He then guaranteed me the money in return, I asked how could he do this if he isn't that great of a business man to get himself into a predicament as he said he was in. Two days later he starts IM ing me and another woman he got his woman crossed up, I played for a little while to see where it was going then told him off. Saved all his messages and sent them to DH of course I knew they couldn't do anything about him I knew they couldn't but I just wanted them to know he was trying to scam woman he found on their site. Then two weeks later he shows up on my facebook. My son-in-law requested to be his friend and put him straight.

Once they woo you (and, some can), they fish for all the info they can get from you - including photos to create new fake profiles on other sites, etc. Be careful. And true, some just want to go there to talk trash. They'll invite you to photo share, and before you know it, you're getting dirty-pecker-pics
