Cinquain is almost like Haiku... It is in syllables of 2,4,6,8,2 as follows....
"Deaf"
To "hear"
the words I say,
watch my face for feeling...
while my hands tell you my story...
silence...

Thank you Begbear... My daughter is severe to profound deaf, and her father my ex-husband is deaf, so of course I learned sign language! It's a beautiful language, for you can "see" what is said especially when describing things, such as the ripple of wind upon the water, down to pistons in an engine...My ex was stone deaf, and his profession was auto mechanic---he was awesome...Could place his hand on the closed hood and tell you what was what, piston, rod, etc..  Char

Mirror Mask
Mirrors,
present to me
masked mirages they see,
but mirror not what lies behind
the masks.
Carryall,
my companion,
a multitude of masks
adorned to meet situations
I face,
to hide
the pain inside
the hurt that I've been through,
different places, disparate faces...
mirage.
