Yes, I've gone to plenty of Singles Dances. Used to be one in Piqua, Celina, Dayton. I
think there is one in Botkins every Friday night. Usually had a good time, and met some
very nice guys and gals too.

I was at a bar once where some dating site had a meeting.
More of a flash party, everyone was on a bus, packed the place, had one drink and left, then got back on the bus.
Dunno what that was about.

suma- what's the name of that Irish pub in Lakewood? We (No. Coast Pipe Band) used to play there all the time, but I can't remember the name!

There is one on Detroit near Madison called the Shamrock.
Dunno if that's the one you mean.
I'm sure at one point in time all the bars in Lakewood where Irish bars.
That is where the Irish settled in Cleveland when they first immigrated.
That's why there is so many bars and churches in Lakewood.
23% of the population is still Irish in Lakewood.
I'm sure most of them have changed their names over time.
I think there are somewhere between 100 - 200 bars in Lakewood in just 5.6 square miles.
So many bars they had to change the laws so you couldn't build more than one bar in the same building.
Here are a couple more Irish ones that I can think of.

McCarthys Olde Boston Ale
Sullivan's Irish Pub and Restaurant
Gallagher's Lounge
The Kenilworth.

McGintys- Thanks!!! Yes I know about all those bars- my daughter loves Lakewood! At one point she was talking about moving there- she has a lot of friend there!

I have never been to pne because I don't no of any around here. I work in a bar and have been trying to talk them into having one but there afraid that not enogh people would come. I work at Mike's Dugout in Creston. Would anyone like to come if I can set it up?
By the way is it the Iron Pony your talking about?

Never been to one as a participant, Have bartended for a couple of PWP dances.Seemed like a nice bunch of people from what I could tell. Maybe will have  to check one out.

No, McGinty's is on the corner of Bunts and Detroit.
I don't think Lakewood has a Frasier dr, I think Rocky River does, I used to live on that street but it didn't have any bars on it.
Did you used to live here?
