LOL! Hurry! Hope you made it in time.

I just saw a show recently where they caramelized onions, but I'll be danged if I can remember what they did. I really meant to pay close attention! Was thinking earlier today I needed to google it. Really not much of a cook so wasn't in a hurry to learn.

How did they turn out?? Liver & onions?

WoW! Had time to google it, read it and get back here before the 'edit' button poofed!

Sounds like a pain in my patootie. They are good though - I'm just not into all the stirring and mixing and adding.....I'm more of the 'into the nuke, press a button, return a few minutes later' type. But they do taste soooo good!

Yeah Irene, have to agree, caramelized green onions doesn't appeal.

What is Thai broth? I don't eat ANY asian type/style/flavor/appearing food! Like KMC & her dislike of seafood, mine & asian food. I'd starve if I ever visited.

No you wouldn't, cause my guests are treated with the finest (any sugestion or desire) they might find more appealing! Don't you worry.......but the broth is so damn delicious that I got to go tomorrow and see if I can find it again.

Irene - didn't mean I'd starve if I visited you, hell, if I got hungry I'd head for McDonald's! I meant if I ever visited Japan, Thailand, China, any asian country. And I know, Japan, et al, have McDonald's etc. - just can't imagine an asian insired Big Mac. Over the years friends have dragged me kicking & screaming to asian restaurants telling me "they have shrimp" or "they have crab legs" - yeah boy! - they have them but they still have that asian flavor. LOL! It is fun to go to the restaurants where they cook everything at the table. If it counts, I will eat rangoons (by the bucket) but that's my limit.

Can I get a twofer? Well now I guess I need a threefer!

1) what happened to the Computer Help Thread?

2) would have posted this on the computer help thread, anyone still out there??

I had an 160 GB external hard dirve with a USB interface, It crashed! I opened it to find that it is an IDE hard drive with a IDE to USB interface and power supply.

So I went to Geeks.com and bought what I thought they said was a reconditioned 400 GB IDE drive. It arrived today paper work says it's a 320 GB well what do you expect for $40 OK!

I installed it in the case and connected it but the computer didn't recognize it. I installed it in place of my C: drive and booted up on my Windows XP installition CD. Partitioned and formated the drive, then put it back in the USB case. Computer finds it it had some folders created for Windows operationg system, able to delete all but one folder, so I formated it again from within windows xp.

Why will it only format to 127GB? Is there a way to format it to the full 320 GB or at least more than the 127 GB?

Thanks!

I've got another external hard drive, other than the one above, it is also a 160 GB. This one is powered by the USB interface, It seems to have power but will not operate from the front USB ports, it always works if connected to a USB port on the rear of the computer. I find this consistant with every computer I have tried it on, at least four computers total.

Any one know why it won't work on the front panel USB ports?

I have built many a houses. first thing is to remove all the old. once you have that clean.
you can get a product called packing. it's a foam tube made for large gaps. stuff that in the area. before you caulk. (fill the tub full) this will ensure your caulk won't peal away later down the road. after the caulk has cured, let the water out of the tub.
no longer will you have issues with that again.
Good luck.

Chuck

NOPE! Not even. We do have those days but for the most part the weather is beautiful here.

Isn't there "bad" weather at times...no matter where you live?

Thanks Chuck. I am really going to have to work on this old house very soon. It seems like one thing after another. I am waiting on my shoulder to heal. I tore it in 5 places so I have to take my time as this is the second repair. I am sure I will have more questions on it this summer. I just thought we have a world of answers right here so why not ask. So many things were started here and never finished. Thanks for the info

Yummy! It worked and I'm eating them now. I did add beer to the batter and also a little oil.

Even took a picture. Will post a picture on the dinner thread a little later. Right now I have to get outside and water my plants and flowers...they are gasping and calling my name.

Mushroom picture.

Just cooked a few to sample them...actually cut two in half, they're big. Going to make a few more to eat with some shrimp and pasta later tonight. I also will probably stuff some with cheese, shrimp and bacon and freeze for another time.
