Because we really know so little about the spiritual, it is easy to get hooked on someone else's train of thought. I used to think others were excepted and I was not, so it made it easy for me to only believe what others told me. Because of following them, I was ready to punch my own card, very near atheist.
Now I have difficulty believing anyone has any inside information. I do not attack christians, have no reason to. But sometimes some of the things they say sound so ridiculous, I cannot stop myself from pointing it out. Not to attack but trying to reason as to why it is ridiculous.
As far as christian goes, I have heard it all with the many churches I have attended in 40 years of being christian.

I don't go to the religious forum to provoke anyone, just to ask questions mainly. Even though I have my own beliefs, that don't happen to be Christian, I still have most of my conversations with them. A majority of the time, we get along fine, but I have to admit that I do take offence to the ones that tell me I am on the wrong path and that there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus. I had my history being brought up Protestant, but I found out later in my life that organized religion isn't for me. It really makes no difference what a person's faith is as far as I am concerned, just don't tell me I am going to burn in hell. Of course, that shouldn't bother me because I don't even believe in hell. I wish they would stop feeling like they have to save my soul....I think it is doing just fine. Peace people

Well, it is like bashing Nixon 30 years ago, it is so darn easy! Historically, I would have been burned
at the stake, and thousands of women were..... or, look at the way women are treated in the Middle
eastern countries, walking around wearing bags. I think our freedoms are recent enough to feel
fragile. I grew up in 1950's in a small town in the South, and fear was everpresent. If you have ever
read the Current Events discussion groups, we can see how difficult it is to discuss rather than
promoting one's own views. Takes an effort.

In my experience there's very few good representatives of Wicca; mostly a pack of people dressed in black, sporting pentacles, casting spells, and impressing nobody but themselves with how powerful they be.

Here is another fool that cannot understand that disagreeing is not bashing it is disagreeing. I am not any religion and have no connection to any. Good or bad that is my stand. I do not know who is right and who is wrong. My problem with all religions is they do not have the balls to admit that they do not know anything either.

I think EVERYONE has a right to believe any thing they want to, that is their right ..
I don't think Bashing gets us any where or name calling ,that is not discussing ..

 I love exploring ideas  -- even the ideas of people who think their way is the only way and feel a mission to change me.  I am woman enough to accept the facts that my ideas are mine (even though I think we are all connected spiritually), and that any input I allow into my consciousness and the resulting effect on me is my responsibility too. I do not like the bashing, but perhaps that is just a means for people to try to protect themselves in an immature way. 
I love the chance allowed here to see posts from people with different spiritual backgrounds. I hope to learn more about the Native American ways; hear about people who have directly connected with the spirit world (especially in an ultimately positive manner because it can be very bad too); and continue to expand my acceptance of all people regardless if I agree with their beliefs or not. I do have a challenge with those who try to force me to do anything -- that challenge is not limited to religion. Thanks to all who took the time to post their thoughts - especially the positive ones.

In my experience there are a lot of people who are afraid of new ideas or perspectives on the lives that they live. It seems we live in a society where people would rather not have to think for themselves (as that would only mean they have to be responsible for themselves). For me new ideas and the discussion of ideas is what drives the human race forward, but god allah buddha forbid that LOL 
shakyamuni buddha suggested you question him, course that doesnt mean you have to. in my own words id say the teaching that notions arent reality is a major theme in buddhist dharma, so why would you believe anything he said unless you could see something in it for yourself. my favorite quote from Hardcore Zen by Brad Warner is, "question authority, question society, question reality"
