It's all a risk and a gamble with how personal you take it. I know who I am and I like who I am. If a man does not find me attractive, the that's okay. I am not that full of myself to think otherwise. There has to be an initial attraction for everyone and if we say otherwise, we are in denial. I too have to have some attraction physically to a man. There is more to dating someone, but it is our nature to be drawn to a persons look initially. As for those girls who were nasty to you....good riddens! Even if they were pretty, their heart was ugly for being that way. Be confident in who you are. Show it, be yourself and hold your head high. Show people you like who you are and you may become even more appealing! Confidense, not c*ckiness, is a real turn on to most women.
