Never really sure what am I to do with a wink? Please just say a word or two. I look and some don't even have a profile. Don't be offended if I do not respond. It's nice but just that. I think I'll just turn off winks then I won't be unsure of what to do.

I view a wink as a wink or a nod of recognition or acceptance of ones being. Sort of a "High, How do you do?" Not as formal as a handshake,but an invatation to take the meeting further. The ball is in your court, so to speak. But that is my interpretation, and I only speak for myself. Honest John

A Cheap, fast way to see if you will wink back---why there are no notes written is because some people do not respond--DESPITE being sent a nice note. So my guess is they stopped taking the time to write a not. BUT--YOU can send a note in return...if you care to.

before everyone was insulted by a wink, it was an option to break the ice on DH site ...just disable that option if you feel it's a turn-off...whom reads whom's profile first is the mystery and we have the option of who's view our profile found in home and we can view that daily as many times i've sent a thank you to that woman that viewed my profile.. a simply email of interest should be an ice-breaker IMO instead of sending a wink...but at least the receiver of this email should respond back since it costs nothing to be polite back...or why be on a dating site is my point...

No if you wink back shows interest to me. I don't believe anyone would get insulted by a wink so not sure about that comment. It's easier to turn off winks that way forces the other pereson to "say something to you" if interested. I always also check a person's profile first if they wink at me. Why would I "wink" back if I see nothing that I like. Not meaning just a picture. I check the profile and any posts they may have may to see what they have to comment on and if I find it in any way offensive. This is just my opinion and how I reply or chose not to. If you have no profile I won't even think of replying as you can't take the time to write something about yourself. So if you wink and don't get a reply or a wink back it doesn't mean the person is rude just no connection for me at least.

A WINK IS LIKE A SHORTCUT FOR SAYING HELLO, OR A WAY OF SHOWING THAT THE PERSON IS ENTERESTED. SOMETIMES WE IN GENERAL SEND EMAILS BUT GET NO REPLIES, OR MAYBE THE PERSON IS SHY. EITHER WAY THERE IS NO HARM OR DISRESPECT IN IT, IT IS SIGN THAT YOUR LIKED!
