Georgia's beef at the end of the 2007 season was that it didn't even get a chance to play for the national championship.

Of course, the irony there is that the Bulldogs' undoing among the pollsters was that they didn't even play in their own conference championship game.

Chances are Georgia will start the 2008 season as the team to beat in the SEC and one of the teams to beat nationally. The Bulldogs have all of the key pieces returning both offensively and defensively and are still irked about not being a part of the BCS national championship party last season.

Here's their chance to do something about it. But beware Bulldog Nation. The schedule doesn't have what you would call a championship feel to it.

Georgia plays at South Carolina on Sept. 13 and at Arizona State on Sept. 20 before returning home to face Alabama and Tennessee. Before the season finale against Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs play four straight SEC road games: at LSU on Oct. 25, the annual game against Florida in Jacksonville on Nov. 1, at Kentucky on Nov. 8 and at Auburn on Nov. 15.

1. Georgia Bulldogs
What we know: The Bulldogs have fewer question marks than anyone else in the conference.
What we don't know: How will Georgia navigate a schedule that might be the SEC's toughest?
How the Bulldogs can get to Atlanta: By riding the coattails of No. 24, Knowshon Moreno.

Take a quick look at the position battles, coaching changes and other key factors to pay attention to during spring practices in the SEC. Chris Low
2. Florida Gators
What we know: Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow is a one-man wrecking machine on offense.
What we don't know: Can the Gators stop anybody capable of throwing the football?
How the Gators can get to Atlanta: Keep Tebow in one piece and find a pass defense.

3. LSU Tigers
What we know: The Tigers will be plenty formidable in their front seven again.
What we don't know: Will Ryan Perrilloux survive this latest suspension?
How the Tigers can get to Atlanta: With or without Perrilloux, finding some leadership at quarterback.

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia football team went through its second of 14 spring practices on Wednesday afternoon.

With the sounds of the baseball game at nearby Foley Field creeping in, the Bulldogs practiced for about two hours. Afterward, Georgia coach Mark Richt said he was happy with what he saw.

"I was really proud of the hustle," Richt said. "That was one of the things we wanted to emphasize today. We wanted the guy with the ball to run harder and longer to force the defense to pursue harder and longer."

Richt said at Monday's practice tailback Knowshon Moreno dashed about 50 yards after catching a screen pass. Defensive lineman Jeff Owens pursued so hard, Richt said, that he and Moreno were in the same frame on the film at the end of the play.

"It was tremendous effort and hustle," Richt said. "If everybody went like that, we might have something special. Today, we saw a lot more hustle, a lot more team hustle."

Richt said it also was obvious that the Bulldogs are ready to put on the pads.

"We¹ll get them get into shells (Thursday)," Richt said, referring to shoulder pads and helmets. "That will give them a chance to get after each other. That's what they like to do."

Richt singled out Kenneth Harris, Demarcus Dobbs, Andrew Williams, Tripp Chandler, Tony Wilson and Mohamed Massaquoi for their play during Wednesday's session.

The Bulldogs will play their annual G-Day Game at Sanford Stadium on Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m.

Yeah, That 30 yard penalty was awsome. Half the stadium went nuts. After the game it showed who had more class. I never heard one GA fan heckling. Just a lot of celabrating.
