On Feb.23rd, all around the U.S., people will dance to increase awareness of cardiovascular disease in women. It is a day of music, dance instruction, demonstrations, and presentations by doctors and exercise instructors, to encourage women to stay heart healthy. Heart desease strikes one of every two women in the U.S., and dancing is an aerobic exercise that gets your blood flowing, and helps prevent heart disease. Besides- it's so much fun!
My daughter's Irish dance group participated in this last year, and will again this year. There are dance demonstrations by every type of dance group imaginable- from waltzing to hip hop, and after the dance demonstration, they teach you to do that type of dance!
It's a lot of fun, and very educational.
Our Day of Dance will be at the Midway Mall in Elyria. I encourage all of you to find out where yours will be, and plan to participate.
Any of you that live near Elyria- come on over and say HI- we'll teach you to do the Irish Jig!
