I wear PINK by Victoria's Secret and HAPPY by Clinique....either one smells really nice on me and I get lots of compliments...and I even turn heads sometimes when I walk past a man...yay me...yay perfume 
My personal preference for a man's cologne is...
1. Eternity (I will drop my thongs for that stuff)
2. Safari (I will not drop my thongs for this one, but I might flash a boob)
3. Cool Water (I will not drop my thongs or flash a boob, but I will sniff your neck...all up in there *schnooka schnooka*...yumma)
So there's my preference

I buy all of my favorite scents, in a body cream. Every scent is offered that way, as well. I put it on after showering, as I would any body moisturizer & it stays on my skin all day (lasts much much longer then the sprays or bottles).
But for some reason, not every scent (cream or otherwise)stays on every person & it doesn't matter at all, how expensive it is or not. It's just how your body reacts to the ingredients used.
Right now my favorite is Michael Kors.
On a man, I love Paco Raban (just don't remember how it's spelled) & the musky scents are very sexy.
As long as it doesn't go straight to my brain via my sinuses & faster then the speed of light when I do smell it, I'm turned on.
