I am planning to move in a couple of weeks to Ohio co. For a new job at Armstrong coal. The problem is I don't know anything about that place nor have anywhere to stay. Just thought I would ask you all if you could tell me a little bit about it and maybe a few numbers to apartments in the area.

Any info would be a great help

Pick the state, search for the area or ask on that forum. There are people who live everywhere and happy to respond to all questions in detail. It's a moving, relocation discussion board.

badhair, I do remember you from earlier posts on DH.

Okay, try this, send me a personal DH email with the name of the town where your job is to be located. I also need to know the demographics of your family if any are moving with you, male/female children and their ages/grade in school, any special needs like health/mental conditions. How many bedrooms, town or country, religious preference. And do you have any animals moving with you?

I have worked with the Health Dept there and the neighboring counties. At least I can get you to people who are willing to help and whom I feel will not take advantage of a newcomer.

In talking to him, he has a 2 week window to come up with an apartment.
And that is not a great amount of time to accomplish this.

Calling on any DH'er to respond
to what you see in your neighborhoods,
Center Town, Hartford, Beaver Dam or Central City
in and around Ohio County,
notice any For Rent signs on your paths to and from work.
Please jot down the phone numbers and send the phone numbers to him by
personal email here on DH.
Do not post someone's phone number on the threads.

I will try calling people I know in that area,
no longer on my driving path today.

Let's try to help him out gang!

You can do better than that, you need to get someone's ear in that community. Other options are out there....come on DH'ers, what say you???????????

Great, that is what interacting will do for you. The more people you have in your circle of friends, the more possibilities you have to solve any obstacle in your path. There is only one requirement when you get help out-of-nowhere, in time you will be approached to do the same for yet another stranger. Our world can change just one person at a time, repeated many times.

Let me know if you are successful. Or not, I will get back into gear again.

Batteries, magnets, protons, and numbers. One thing I never, ever want to be positive EVER again is a pregnancy test!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH!! That's scarier than any horror film ever made. I'm way to old to do the diaper, car seat and stuff again!

Born and raised in Breckenridge Co. next door to Ohio Co. Weird people are everywhere and so are good ones. It isn't such a bad place and I even have relatives there. I'll send them a message on FB and see if they have any ideas of places to stay. Good luck.

good luck on your new job, new apartment and new beginning. Hartford is midway between Owensboro and Bowling Green, lots of things to do and trouble to get into in either city.

You only announced on Mar 29, less than a week and like snapping your fingers, it is history. Glad someone gave you the lead you needed. And of course, Mother Nature has already welcomed you with high winds and tornadoe warnings before noon today. Enjoy your Welcome Wagon.
