It's difficult to get back in the dating scene after along time. Alot has changed in 16 years. Like I went to a bar with some friends, and it was a swinging club. Boy, was I shocked.

Hi Ok,
I think it is a combination. Perhaps being a little pickier... and that the dating pool has become a puddle at this stage in our lives.. with the available being less than our standards will allow. Then there are those that are certainly datable, but then location becomes the hurdle.

Maybe you got thrown under the bus a few too many times, as in insults and innuendos from your ex. Maybe even, if only subconsciously, you started believing some of what he uttered was truthful. Self-esteem is one of the very things that makes someone attractive. It triggers so many positive things. I hope you have your "Stella Got Her Groove Back"moment, soon. Good Luck!!!

I know what you're going through. Its going to get harder because finally you know what you're looking for. To find all the good variables or qualities in one person is going to be hard to find.
In my years of dating after divorce, I have dated many women 1 time, no second date.
I just refuse to lower the qualities that I'm looking for in a women. Is it me, it probably is. Been looking locally and recently decided to try here, on DH.
I have met several women of interest but I am NOT going to rush or jump to any conclusions.
