6 months sounds reasonable for a LD relationship, but I'm not always reasonable

I say when you both can't take it any longer and you have that urge that you must see each other....however long that takes....I wouldn't say within the month but I don't want to waste months chatting back and forth and talking on the phone then meet that person to find out it just doesn't click in person like it does on here.

Well I have done a long distance relationship. It was very hard, We weren't expecting to do a first meet for about 4 months because of our work schedules and stuff. We were lucky to have one in about 6 weeks.I was going to be on Portland Or. He flew out to meet me.
To be honest, I could have waited. The meeting isn't what broke us up. He lied over something that was a deal breaker for me. Anyway.
Tink I am gathering you are thinking about a first meet. I personally don't think you should put a time limit on it. I see some really great aspects of a LDR if you keep these things in mind. Keep it real. I mean really real. So you are in a pissy mood and don't have your happy face on. So what let him see it. Have debates, arguments everything. By the time the break up came. I knew what foods gave him gas. I knew what type of toilet paper he preferred.
So I am an advocate for a LDR. Since I know they can work. I also have spent alot of time thinking about all the ramications of doing one. Eventually one of you will relocate that is a must. Finances is another one. Retirement ideals. I say if you can keep it real Tink go for it. I wish you luck in it.
The one thing I would do now after my experience, I would do a background check and have him do one on me. So the doubt that we really are who we say we are is out of the way.
Have agreat one

Six months is good. If you trust each other, go for it. otherwise, take more time.
Some people know even sooner.
Tink are you planning a roadtrip with out mauw? No fair...
