when you read or before you post to another thread do you actively
1) see what what others have posted to a thread, before you write your post...
2) just post what you have to say but move on to another thread without reading anyone's posts...
3) go back and continue to read every word/ every sentence of every sunsequent post thereafter, someone makes after your post...
4) you don't read every word/ or every sentence of the posts for some reason you might want to share eg: because the format is hard to read, or just plain too long to read or whatever the reason, say it...
5) do you like having fun posting or just look for people you like to mingle with, instead of reading threads from someone else, who may not attract the people you mingle with...
why not share how and why, you do anything on this 50's group through the threads here interacting with each other...do you post or start threads to overcome boredom and maybe lonliness??? Or for whatever reason, would you share that reason...as again, I'm sure inquiring minds and not just mine needs to know too...thanks...

If it is large thread, I will read the first couple of pages and then the last. Otherwise it may take all day on some of them.

I usually try to go back and read as much as I can to get a feel for how the thread got to where it's at, before I post. I've only started a few threads... during the recent bad period of bickering and arguing... tried to make them positive and light-hearted to offer other options. It didn't really work, too well...

i think it's the fun of it Huron to read everyone: you learn what people have to say all the time and usually most keep the same view points/ beliefs too

I agree with BigMac...and being new I don't have any specific people I'm looking for. I will, if I post something, go back periodically to see if any comment is made on what I posted, just to make sure if I need to comment on that post. If it's my thread I will periodically check it (read all subsequent posts from the last time I read it) to "keep tabs' on the thread...

"Sorprano"
#1 - always...........in addition always look at the Profile (Male or Female) of Poster
#2 - always...........however, may go to another Thread and then come back to read
#3 - not always.......leave the Thread if I get bored or tired- just depends on mood
#4 - ....... depends on the Post/subject
#5 - ..... it has become a habit and fun.....just looking for that special guy
Actually, there are many different reasons that I come to the computer and say hi to my friends, sometimes I feel lonely and sometimes I feel they may be feeling lonely, sometimes just to be silly, sometimes to be serious, quite often to learn more about each individual and the area that they live, and now with my new knowledge of putting Photos on the Site, sometimes to showoff my work and get the "kudos". Another fun part of the site is the You Tube Postings, pretty cool.

I always try to read the beginning and most of the thread unless its one that was resurrected....... I have learned that you don't have to ask people your interested in to tell you about them self......... they write their personalities with every post.

maui: it's ok but when we were in school, sometimes someone once said esp to me: read the 1st page/ paragraph of the book and only the last chapter and then we found out the questions were from the 2nd chapter and before the last one on tests--what we need to do here is read everything here with a free open mind and not close our minds because someone has a diff point of view at times--but generally, i love threads when everyone can show their sense of humor more then their other side (which can cause others to notice and take a side against that person, even it could be me, they're against simply not reading every word/ every sentence of every post)

1. Yes, I look at the topic, read the posts, then say what I think/feel. Others post do not change my mind, but do often add insite to the topic.
2. I don't think I have ever just posted and left and never look at the after my post. Could be that I post and need to leave, but when I return, I read to catchup. Might post again.
3. This seems a combination of 1 & 2 and the answer is yes. at least most of the time.
4. Some that are too long, I might not read, if the topic is not that interesting to me.
If that topic gets many posts, then I will take the time and see what I might be missing.
5. I like having fun posting, I try to look at most of the topics. If I don't post, I really could not think of anything to say, or it might be a subject that I was not ready to post a statement on. I especially look at new or people I do not know, always welcome them if the first time I have seen them. I do have some I like on these, but do not limit my posts to just their topic.
This group is my first time to be in this type of group. I have tried chat groups a couple of times and do not like them. I like the fun and serious and loving caring attitude of most on this 50+ group. Some are like a bad apple and seem to always draw, might be sucker a few. If I strongly disagree with a principal, I will just sayit, the variation of topics and post are fun, entertaining and some even a learning experience.
If we were a cheerleading group I would yell GO 50+
