sxy - You made a good point, if we did get back together, would we each be in constant fear?. Case in point, what if I sabatoged your parachute?. We would both be hitting the ground at 32 feet per second per second. IEEEEEEEEEE, keerplunk.

I have heard a lot of stories about this happening.
I guess it has a lot to do with why you got divorced.
I have some friends who were great together,---until the first child came along. Others did well until the children became monsters. (teenagers if you did not guess what I meant)
One couple I knew were happily married until their child died. They could not look at each other after that happened.
Other couples can not get past major injuries, or the loss of a good job.
The point is that if you broke up for something that is no longer a problem, I can see getting back together if both of you are lonely.

cricket...before you nail my butt to the fence, maybe there's a good reason for me to feel the way I do. Ever think of that? I have no problems or dislike for most of the other men in my life, and still speak to many on ocassion but #1 taught me a BIG lesson about trust, love and honesty.
I stand by my original answer.

Absolutely not. He was 15 years younger and left me for a younger gal. As controling as he was, I could never put up with someone like that again. Live and learn. Try to never make the same mistake twice.

I've finally gotten it through my head what a horrible rotten scoundrel she was. She destroyed and damaged everything and there's nothing left. I think now that it was a very bizarre, twisted sort of blessing on ME so that I might have a more relevant and fulfilling ending to my life. Something completely different than what it would have been. No way in Hell... there's nothing to go back to...
What was the line from "2001: A Space Odyssey"?
"What's going to happen?"
"Something WONDERFUL..."

This is funny seeing this thread here, actually.. My ex called me in November and said he was leaving his wife, and wanted to know if he had a home to come home too.....
I actually laughed out loud (kind of felt bad about that) and told him,,, we have been divorced for 24 years, you don't even know me.....
My answer is no... I would feel like I was back peddling,, and I am only moving forward with my life....

From the day my marriage ended till now, I never regretted that marriage ending. I have the good part that the marriage provided, children and grandchildren . Because he is my childrens father, I can at least be in the same room with him for my childrens sake. He lives 3000 miles away so I don't have to deal with him very often.
I hope next time I will love the man of my life with my whole heart and soul. It is scary though, I made 1 mistake and I want this one to last a life time.Dolly
