Ok, I have replied to the e-mails & winks & tried to start conversations, but I would like to get past just typing. Anyone else with the same problem?
How do you get past this with out coming on too strong?
As far as good men, I have seen many on here that if their profile is true are Good Men.
I'm ready to meet & start dating.

Sometime you have to just ask them out to a meeting.

Well at least you are making a concerted effort..hats off to you for at least responding to the winks or emails...I am not conceited by any stretch of the imagination..but seems 99.9% of the women in the Chattanooga area are waiting on either Kevin Costner or a Mr. Moneybags, cause they are not exactly what you would call responsive...Hell a simple thanks but no thanks is a start toward being a real live human..
Good luck to you biker, you are a very attractive lady

rockclimber, too bad you are so far away. A weekend hanging out would be great. my problem on here is the courtesy thing, and the ones who are courtious are so far away....no chance or very slim chance of meeting. But, I keep hoping HE is out there somewhere, a little closer.....

Hi all. I just want to say that I tend to be a little picky as to whom I respond to. Here is why...I am 36, and looking for someone in my age group, not someone who is 20 years my senior. I look at their nicknames...I will NOT respond to slitlicker69 or anything remotely like it. Think about how you are going to come across with at name like that! EGAD! Everyone seems to be looking for a good guy or good girl, don't be disrespectful when you email, saying things like I wanna lick you or I wanna hook up. I've gotten many emails like that. Am i too old fashioned? I expect to be respected, not treated like some white trash wh*re. I have found that a large percent of men that have emailed, are looking for one thing. Sex. I would like to find someone to hang out with, male or female for friendship. Just getting together to watch a movie, go for dinner, go to a ball game...whatever. I am new here and don't know anyone and it gets really lonesome at times. But so far, I have not been successful. The women think I am hitting on them just because I email and ask if they want to go hang out...the guys think if you email them, woo hoo, they are getting laid. what is a happy medium? Where do you go around here to meet people? THis online thing doesn't seem to be working very well. Any ideas?

If it's me, I'd go from email to IM to phone calls to meeting them in person. Sounds like a good method of madness to me.

Perhaps you might consider this too brazen -- but since I am not really looking for a LDR (been there, done that -- oops) -- I tend to ask to meet for coffee at Borders asap -- might as well know from the beginning if you are dealing with what "looks" to be a "real" person that you might possibly have some chemistry with. My experience is that some guys are great behind a keyboard -- but that is often the limit of their availability for authenticity. This time around, i want more. And I am still hopeful enough to believe it exists.
Peace...Love...and Hope,
Liz

I haven't had much of a problem recently. Either I or the other person initiated about meeting in person.
