Actually other than the finace who became very physically abusive I stay in touch with my ex's and enjoy all of them aas men. They were all great before they were ex's and remain great after...
Not all ex's are ex's because somebody did somebody wrong.
Some times - people are adults, and know that not everyone can be together long term and be content.
What I enjoyed about them?
Their minds
Their integrity
Who they were at all times - easy and challenging
Their compassion
Their humor

WoW! Talk about a subject that is actually on my mind these days. Had a BF when i was 17, he was in the army and stationed in HI, i was in NY. We loved eachother but that kind of distance is hard. He wanted me to go to HI and be with him but at 17 thats scary and my parents wouldnt allow it. Time went by and we slowly drifted apart and he married. We actually lost contact for 20 years and have found eachother online recently. Well about 8 months ago. If anything we have more in common now than we did 20 years ago! Unfortunatly hes married to another woman but I saw him when i visited family for vacation and we spent a bit of time together. I will also be seeing him this weekend. Would I get back together with him? IN A HEARTBEAT! He was my best friend, and seems to be still. A man that I actually have 110% trust in. Yes SILVER, sometimes things do happen for a reason, and its not always bad. Sometimes its so that you learn what you really want in life and can have a more mature outlook on things.

But I have to agree with ouvrir - I firmly believe that if it was meant to be, you would have never parted, and you would still be together now... JMO
