Even the most attractive woman is a victim of this disease. A man such as myself is so patient and understanding when I meet females who have been hurt.. they hide it so damn well,but comes out,within the convo,within the wks you spend time with them. Their new found personality is really harden to the idea of meeting someone who wasn't like the other.. its just frustrating for even a person who understands the value of building trust

Funny All I'm trying to find is a man that I can trust. Believe me I'm looking for the complete opposite of all of my ex's. I met a wonderful gentleman recently(and he is a perfect gentleman). But unfortunately we could never be compatible sexually.

I agree with you. Most of us whine and cry so much about the past we can't accept a potential future with someone else. But I am beyond that stage in life. No more poor pathetic me.

Getting hurt sucks, but move on...get over it. It might take some time and durning that time don't date or go into the "I'm lonely so I have to be with someone" routine. Also.....DON'T COMPARE APPLES TO ORANGES! Don't go into a relationship comparing the new guy/gal to the one or ones that have hurt you in the past. That's a relationship killer.

OP, don't get involved with women who are recently out of a marriage, long-term relationship or is widowed. Make that part of your initial "getting to know you" questions. If they haven't had sufficient time to heal and move on, then you're wasting your time. IF it works out, most likely you're her rebound and those rarely make it beyond the 18 month-3 year rebound relationship. It just takes time to deal with the baggage..........for a lot of women, it takes longer than it does for men. Possibly the emotional vs. the physical thing. Good luck! You seem to be one of the good guys! She'll find you!

if you are over the age of eighteen and are single there is a good chance at some point you were in a bad relationship or it ended badly or it was just over and you weren't ready for it to be. . .so there are going to be trust issues with every new relationship until the trust is earned. . .i used to give my trust easily, sorry now it has to be earned. . .

Some of us (men and women) do learn and move on from past hurts. Not every break up heals the same, even for the same person getting over multiple hurts.
I know I am one such person. I started a topic this morning that I need to update. I am happily (terrifyingly) off the market. I'm taking it slow and he and I will deal with what comes.

Do you remember back in HS when you could just randomly date a chick, have a great time and who gives a damn if they had a 'b/f'?
Same for college somewhat. You go out, have a blast, then meet someone not so damaged.
Now, you have to consider the age bracket you are trying to connect with. Usually, divorced, kids, horrible ex and glad they are single again etc.
You are not going to get a clean canvas at this point. We come with a past, baggage, issues etc. So stop saying it is sad.
What is sad is that you haven't caught on to this yet. The best you can hope for is someone who has moved on to a healthy point in their life and ready to date again because they know they have something to offer and bring to the table.
If you are not willing to accept that, i suggest you start trolling the school yards or date barely 20 somethings.
