Thanks girls for the feedback. He is making me feel guilty for walking away, like it's my fault. This is a dhu member and I know he will be reading this as he is very active in the forums and many of you know him. He really is a great guy with a great heart though or I would have not stuck by him so long. I guess he has a lot of growing up to do but Im not sure how that works at his age.

Sounds like my ex but he had a major drug problem! Are u SURE he isn't hiding a drug issue or gambling!?! It's not THAT obvious if it's pills. They are expensive and not very easy to tell they are on them..,
Where else is this guys $!??! If he makes more $ then u then what the he'll is he doing w it?!? Sounds like a REAL problem u may not know about! Took a while for me to figure out! When my bills weren't getting paid and I was carrying the motherload I knew something was up. I figured it out.
I would help him out DEFINITELY that's what partners do but not carry the load!!! If he needed $ here and there absolutely, in a heartbeat but not all the time! I'm sorry! Sounds really fishy to me!

Okay my question to you or whomever is going through this is WHY ARE YOU STAYING???? Somethings I'm not willing to do for a boyfriend. It's one thing to help out once or twice to ensure he eats but heavy stuff like a mortgage and car note is a definite he'll no. For several reasons: for one, a man needs to be a man. Which to me means he needs to be able to take care of his household. second, a real man never leans on a woman to take care of him.
I can name a few other reasons but IDE to get too carried away.....however GET OUT and STAY FAR AWAY from him!!!! He's a user and irresponsible. Think about it would you ask for a husband with those needs? I'm sure I wouldn't

The only way that I see you being able to stay with this guy is by having his check deposited into your bank each week,keep all his credit cards giving him a small allowance, and you pay all the bills...yours and his. On one hand you still have an irresponsible man but you wont be paying his bills out of your pocket.
Yes I had thought of that if things went to the next level but this last go around I lost all respect for him. He is pathetic not getting of his a** and fixing things before they got so bad. I feel sorry for him because he is pathetic. It is not how a man should act. I told him to man up. No man should act that way, it is just like a child. I don't need another child as my last is just about raised.

Like I said we broke up several months ago but as soon as I started dating he freaked out and made me out to be the bad guy blaming me for the breakup saying it was my choice. That is true, it was my choice but his actions are what caused it. He begged me not to date and when I told him I was not going to put my life on hold any longer he lost it and called me a wh*re . That is one think I have never been or will be. After a big texting blow out the other day I posted this wanting to get other gals opinions and it was so helpful.
I have found a few gentlemen I am interested in and will be doing some dating off this site for a while and hope it leads to a future with one.
As I said it is easy to judge my behavior in this for four years but he was recovering from a divorce, then he was paying child support and other circumstances that came up. From my end it was like it would get better once the child support was finished and it didn't, it got worse and that is where we are now. When you are in the middle of it it is just not so cut and dry. I have good memories with this man but bad ones too. If I could have seen the future I would not have wasted the last four years with him though.
