Todays 5 o'c*ck news stated that the marriage rate is 50% less now then in 1970 in the USA...The British are against marriage now also, they said that it is the lowest rate of marriages in 150 years and that the population there is much much larger. What is your opinion: MARRIAGE OR LIVE TOGETHER

personally I for one will NEVER get married again .. going through a DIVORCE is such a HORRIBLE experience   ........ unless your going to have children I say its NOT a bad idea to live together ... this way if you should part it wont cost an arm and a leg .... and if ya REALLY, REALLY LOVE eachother it'll work out just fine anyway ... so!! living together is'nt such a bad idea ...... I know a few people who have been living together for many years and are still going strong ...

Marriage, been there done that Doubt seriously I will ever do that again. I think I'd rather live with, at least that way when it screws up I can leave.

the only way at this point I think I would marry is if I thought my end was near and I wanted to make sure my partner would get everything I could leave her. Unfortunately a marriage liscence is nothing to most anyone but a lawyer for the other side, and whatever money the state can get out of it. Sad but true. I guess if I was in love with someone and just loving someone and they wanted to get married I would have to re think my position but I'd sure have to think about it.

To me .. living together means all your stuff is in the same place but you both have one foot out the door.

Well I may get some bashing out of this. But I honestly would like to live with him for at least a year. I am of the opinion that you can't really know someone till you live together. I think the old ancient way handfasting. is the best way. You are absolutely committed to one another then at the end of the year you both come together and decide if you want marriage, renew the agreement or do you want to just call it quits.
This comes from the Old Scottish ways. I also think some Pagen religon's use it also.
anyway just my .02 cents on the subject.

sitka...i cant imagine anyone bashing another on DH...
my opinion was always marriage, but since i'm older i am thinking differently...now just finding someone compatible, who isnt afraid of being in a relationship, would be GREAT!!
