Okay... So i'm 22... Def. not out the dating scene... just bored with my current area's dating pool. Figured switch to something different... venture on to the online world. Not desperate in anyway... but looking for new guys to talk to that are intelligent and can carry on a good convo.
What's everyone's opinion on this whole online dating scene. Do you think it can work? I don't know if can? Plus, how do you make the from talking online/phone to actually meeting? Isn't it awkward? Plus how often does it work out. I mean people are usually more comfortable talking between computer screens then in person. Also, people can lie through a computer screen. How is it possible that this whole thing can work. Just kind of interested in people who have actually tried it.... any success stories? Any mishaps! Let me know I'm bored. I have a few stories to I might share too!

I have met someone who I didn't think was interested and he admitted just recently it was because of distance that he didn't express alot of interest. But now I do now that he does feel the same way and I think I would be patient and wait for him because he is SO worth it. In the meantime I'll have my fingers crossed and my heart open.

well it can and it cant. it all depends on if you can keep thining up things to talk about untill you get the chance to meet in person. and but the biggest risk you ave to take for it to work is to trust that the other person wont be the kind of person that will cheat behind your back and than lie to you about it. i mean ive that appen to me before. the very first internet relationship i had i found out two months latetr that the girl i was talking to was getting married to a different guy. i never felt that much heartache ever. and luckely i havent felt it since. and that was a little over a year ago.

Yes.
I met someone online early last year.
Her and I got close, she lived in MN, I lived in IL, we met each other in June, and we kept meeting (she had family down here), her and I got really close ... and some things happened ... and it turns out that she was pregnant ... and we planned to live together when she had him/her, and we'd raise it. In August, she was on the bridge in Minneapolis. The one that collapsed. And they didn't make it.
If she hadn't died, however, it would've worked.
Yes, you can meet people online. Just be cautious, and make sure the person is who they say they are, and it'll work out. There are wicked awesome people out there, and they aren't always near where you live. Why should distance stop you?

I met my last wife on the internet back in 1983 and we ended up together for over 12 years. Of course, that was back in the days when penpals websites were the thing. Online dating and distance can be a dangerous combination nowadays, so be careful. My ex and I were very lucky to have met and fallen in love with each other. Like anything else in life, take your time. Listen to your heart. Don't rush into anything. And most of all, be cautious.
