My question is how do you date without having sex first with a person? It feels like everyone says their looking for something else but the bottom line it seems like they just want sex? So how do you date someone without having sex before the second dae?

And why would you wait to have sex with a person who you wanted to have sex with?

well.. first off yes a lot of people think sex makes or breaks a relationship, but it doesn't always have to be that way. I mean well.... why can't people spend time together, go out to eat, cuddle on a couch, go for a walk on the beach, take time and do different hobbies that you and the other person enjoy doing? Just enjoy being around the person. You know if they pressure you to have sex, well you could prolly tell if they are the right one or not depending on how they react to your decision of yes or no

I dont understand why anyone would have sex before dating and getting to know one another, regardless of a strong attraction. You dont know where that person has been or been with. Just sounds irresponsible to me. Doesnt anyone value their health anymore? I couldnt jump into the sack right off the bat and being pressured would run me off...it has to be the right person at the right time, and dating should reveal that.

There are a hell of a lot more dangerous things that we do every day that are not nearly as fun so this reasoning is very flawwed.

I very much so agree with ladievirtue...
The reasoning is not very flawwed. Riding in a car is not nearly the same...Having sex with random people that you hardley know is irresponsible. Why not find the one you love to be with, first, and then have LOTS and LOTS of sex with that person? Instead of basing who you'd like to be with my their performance in the sack? People that think like you, mister(Sorry, I don't remember your name...), are the ones that end up with herpes, crabs, aids, and other nasty diseases...Good Luck to you!

Everyone thinks that sex it the greatest thing a human can do. Animals have SEX, humans make love. Dating someone without having sex is great. I want to get to know the person before I make love. Like I said any animal, insect or ameba can have sex only humans make love.

I just had that happen I met someone and we made a date ,When he asked if I would have sex on our first date I told him No! He called me and cancled our date, saying he needed a break.

Is this really that difficult, if you don't want to have sex that early then JUST DON'T and make sure your open with them about those feelings, if they don't like that and act like an ass you could always tell them to f*ck off.

Me I dont mind waiting and getting to know a woman, I mean I have done the have sex with anything that moves thing. I am just not into that anymore, I would rather meet someone and have a relationship and something more perhaps before it even gets close to that. Its just you have to go with how you feel and the spark thats there or not.

Ok reading the response. I got it, I understand that yes you should wait until you find that special person. But the reality is, is that doesnt seem to happen. The question is more about what is dating? How do you date? I just dont get it I quess?
